What are you growing?

From the box, i have winter-sown:
Antennaria dioica 'Pussytoes'
Columbine
Leopard's bane
Scutellaria
Chrysopsis villosa 'Golden Aster'
Echinops ritro (white)
Amaranthus
Zinnia 'Cut and Come Again'
Cleome 'Colour Fountain' (i think that was from the box)

Only the Amaranthus has sprouted so far.

Well I only received the box a few days ago, so haven't had the time to plant everything that I chose. I did plant the banana seeds (inside) and the hibiscus 'luna red' (WS) and the ligularia 'Marie Crawford' (also WS)
Great selection of seeds in the box--thanks to all who contributed--I am so looking forward to growing the rest of the seeds.

Okay I have been watching this and resisting the urge to join in again this year but, I think I just have to jump in. I had fun with it last year. :) and since I am not far from Donna then this would be a good time. Could I please join in?.....please?

To say I am planting in 2009 I guess is rather premature but I am planting a wish list in 2009. I am most certainly a novice and have been combing this and other websites for a wide variety of tomatoes. When I do plant it will most likely need to be a small garden with vegetables only for my own enjoyment and sustenance. Any advice, suggestions would be greatly appreciated. My dream garden is awaiting in the future... an organic block style raised bed sort of thing. The list (I keep adding but it needs to be shortened) Yellow: Willard Wynn Hybrid: Mountain Pride F1, Ramapo F1 Oxheart: Anna Russian Cherry: Black Cherry Orange: Kellog's Breakfast Bi-color: Hillbilly Beefsteak: Brandywine Sudduth's Strain, Marianna's Peace, Mortgage Lifter Black: Cherokee Purple By the way I am a sucker for the cool names - I haven't actually tried any of these. I grew up with Big Boy tomatoes and other more "traditional" plain looking ones. Thanks, Rachael

What percentage of people grow tomatoes?

At a small community garden nearby, two of 16 plots did not grow tomatoes. One lady doesn't like them and the other garden was a Girl Scout project that grew food for a nearby animal rehabilitation center...guess the critters don't like them either. In my neighborhood of single famiy homes, very few people have veggie gardens. Kinda sad if you ask me. I'm hoping that maybe they do have some veggies tucked in a spot that I just can not see. Two nearby homes have elderly singles who can barely walk around their homes, much less get around outside. Both used to have large gardens when they were younger and their wives were still alive, and they had kids living nearby to share the bounty. One neighbor gardens in the yard next door and shares the produce with the disabled adult that lives there. Works great for both of them since the gardener's own yard is very shady.

Received my package today...well at least I believe it was from this swap. Not quite sure cause no communication inside and no return address. Received back 10 of my own pkgs... Not quite sure if they were not up to the trade or what, but got them back. Well, I've wintersowed some goats beard, globe thistle alliums and joe pye weed from this year's box and from last year I had some yellow columbine and japanese burnet. I'm really hoping to get some more going, but with the fantastic early spring we've had its hard to resist all the clean up chores that are usually later!

From some older packages in the box the following germinated.
Gladiolus species, Lantana, Lily-trumpet assorted,
Lily-tiger. I'm pleased!
