Here is part two of blooms appearing in my gardens this past week of June. Now to work on my seedlings post to come. Hope you enjoy the show.

I have WESTBOURNE CORN CRIB too. Yours looks great. I also have SOMETHING ANGELIC and I love mine and your picture. But I am liking RAPTOR RAP and SELMA LONGLEGS the best of this batch of pictures.

Rita, thank you. Corn Crib sure is a standout when walking up to the garden. Something Angelic was added to my garden last fall and I LOVE IT! I've been in love with Raptor Rap for years....LOL. Selma Longlegs is one of my oldie, but goodies. Looks like the blooms are dancing together. Thanks for taking the time to look at my pics.

Can ya believe my DH (who is not a shopper) sat in the truck and waited for me for one of those stores??? I seen it on the way in and was about to break my neck to look. I didn't even ask him and when we left town, he pulled in and said ,"ok, hon, ya got 30 minutes." What a sweetie! Kudzu,that is so funny! I paid 50 cents for mine. I almost didn't see it, it was behind the little gate when I picked it up. oh, luna, I know! We would have a blast shopping together!! Sunny, I'm such a dummy, I didn't even think to look! All I could see was a little seat or birdbath for my gr'daughters to put in the fairy garden we are making. I will look, though when I get home tonight! Thx, for the heads-up, Karen, I'll keep a look-out for Kirk lurking around my cabin treasures!LOL!! But, ya know, it would be fun to go shopping with him and Carol,cuz we like the same decor, although we'd be fighting over the bears!!!!LOL! You mentioned that your purples and darks are quite saturated this year, and that was exactly my reaction seeing your photos. Beautiful intense color and I especially like Grape Velvet, Francis of Assisi and Creature of the Night. I have also noticed that the color of hydrangeas this year has an intensity of blue and purple that I've never seen before. My blue hydrangeas are the color of lobelia. Does anyone know what might be causing this? (I don't treat them to tweak the color.) Christine

Thanks! Ngraham - with rain, colors have been deeper and more vivid this year, especially after rain. We had nearly 2" of rain yesterday. So I grabbed the camera - you know bloom season is down and out when you grow 800 + daylilies and you only can find 16 to take pictures of (and some of those were duplicates.) At any rate, here were a few blooms this AM after heavy rain. First, the lovely LOLA BRANHAM, one of my favorites and a perfect example of the twisted cascade form. I have never seen the blooms look so "fat" or such a deep color before. Rain can sometimes have the effect of "fattening up" spiders and UFs. Anyone who can grow dormants and wants a LONG bloomer should look at STELLA'S RUFFLED FINGERS by my friend BJ Crichton. It starts EE and here has put up three sets of rebloom scapes. ( unheard of in this climate!) It is still blooming today and has lots of blooms left. This is a cute little one - great for front of border. Jane Trimmer's MICRO DOTS is another which has put up rebloom scapes. Great little one! HEARTBEAT OF HEAVEN is near the end of bloom, but the color today was darker ( and bloom was huge) after the rain. And a couple I just forgot to post last night. Here's one I can never seem to get a good picture of - Jack Carpenter's ESSENCE OF ROYALTY. And one by Reg.14 hybridizer Jesse George which has been a very reliable performer here. I love, love, love the poly on Someplace Special! Sink Into Your Eyes looks nice. I got it as a bonus this spring. How does it perform for you?

You have some gorgeous flowers! Hard to pick a favorite from this bunch. Really love Worthy Creation, Someplace Special, The Band Played On, And Something Angelic. Nice to see a picture of Summer Star. I looked for that one in a garden today but it wasn't blooming. How does it perform for you? The picture is very pretty.

Debra, Someplace Special is pretty special when she polys....I love it too! I cannot determine performance of Sink Into Your Eyes other than it has survived a flood, followed by ice storms a plenty in winter 2006 followed by deer relentlessly chomping it season after season! The Lambertson cultivars do well for me here. This is the first year I've seen it bloom since buying it in 2006!

Jean, Thank you for your admiration.

Michelle, I split a small clump of Summer Star off for a friend year before last and you can't even tell I divided anything off of it! As far as blooming goes, My garden has been so devestated by deer since 2007 that I really can't comment on the blooming part of it. It just started blooming this week so time will tell.
