Playing catch up...Part two.

Start off with some blueberry yumminess!

Must use your imagination on this one...it is actually a lemon yellow with purple eyezone, but my camera sucks.

This ones scape blasted pretty bad, but still gave me a bloom, not perfect, but hey, still pretty. It's an ffo, with only one more bud left. The others dropped.

Perfect flower for a ffo.

My purples and darks are quite saturated this year.

Onto post number three...I still have more!

Another batch of pretties this morning. I like BLEUBERRY FROST, yummy is right. GRAPE VELVET just glows, so pretty. And CREATURE OF THE NIGHT is another stunner.

Great shot of Guardian Angel. Two favorites from this batch too, Blueberry Lemonade and Creature of the Night, stunning.

Chris, It took it some time to settle in. I moved it early this spring so was surprised the blooms looked half way decent on it!. I'm sure glad you gave up on it and sent it to me cuz I sure love the pretty blooms and there are LOTS of buds on it now. Debra, Thank you! I sure wished my shots looked as good as yours...LOL! Your clump shot of Cret. Crunch has a lot more bite than mine, but I sure love it! It took a good two years settling time for it to show it's bite. Purple Side Effects was added to my garden last fall. I ordered Bass Gibson and Ruckus from Throughbred and Annette sent PSE as bonus! Purple Cheetah was added last fall as well. Jean, I would be happy to send you some banned in Boston once it cools down a little bit, email me through my page. Natanya, Adorable Tiger is even more striking in person, can't explain it, but this beauty is bright! I really LOVE IT! Candy Cane Dreams is another of my favorites. It seems to glow to me! Val, Thank you. Clarification has been a proven winner, the deer never seemed to eat it's buds....LOL Now that I have it within a protected fence, I plan to do some hybridizing with it. Poppy looks happy to be surveying the garden flowers. How shady is it there by the garage? I see blooms on those daylilies there. I don't know if you like asiatic lilies but they thrive in much less sun than optimum for daylilies. Also upright sedums don't need that much sun and look great with hosta or lilies. I bet Catmint with grow wonderfully these too. If you going to do some redoing of that bed, consider putting some nice sturdy trellis back up near the garage walls and plant some vines. Many of the vining honeysuckles bloom almost all the time. KEY TO MY HEART is my pick of this lovely batch of blooms.

Sharon, those are two of my favorites on this page. Especially Stop The Show. It's always a beauty.. Linda, I saw Special on a thread that Dot either replied to or started. Her pic is what mademe want SC. Also Crazy Ivan which I won on the LA tonight. I agree that colors differ from north to south and in different soil types. My soil is very bad except the bed where SC is. I would like it even if it was a little more yellow..I want Rock Candy and Precious Candy. Both are beautiful... Rita, I think it's because it such a pretty red and has such large blooms. That would be pretty anywhere!! Thank you all!!Ellie

Chris, this is the 2nd blooming time I have had with it. I posted pic last year. I got it fall before last, 07' I think... Sharon, I think PBS will be a fav of everyone. It's a beauty. PAG is a beauty two but I wasn't home for shots of multiples. Too bad cause it sure was pretty.. Rita, I though as much. Prarie Fire was really pretty this year though... Kay, I think yours is really pretty. Is it always that red? That is really unusual because it's supposed to be purple. Maybe it's the soil that makes the difference.. Jean, they are wonderful for your garden. They eat larger insects and I have never had one jump on me. They are very shy with people. They try to stay away from you.. Great motion on your Creature of the Night shot! That's my favorite in this bunch. I'm surprised at how much rounder your Francis of Assisi is than mine. It may not be true to color, but your Blueberry Lemonade phot is my second favorite.

Very nice pictures. Uplifting and refreshing colors from H. St Francis of Assisi and Blueberry Frost. They are my favorites in this set.

You've got quite a treasure of pics.

My FRANCIS OF ASSISI has just now started to send up scapes. I divided it in the spring but now I think I should have done it in August. Lesson learned.

Blueberry Sundae. Everytime I see it I have that emotional reaction to it, you know, the one that screams "I need this daylily". But I love the Moldovon too.

You mentioned that your purples and darks are quite saturated this year, and that was exactly my reaction seeing your photos. Beautiful intense color and I especially like Grape Velvet, Francis of Assisi and Creature of the Night.

I have also noticed that the color of hydrangeas this year has an intensity of blue and purple that I've never seen before. My blue hydrangeas are the color of lobelia. Does anyone know what might be causing this? (I don't treat them to tweak the color.)
