I don't see any reason at all to believe that KBG is in your grass at all. I do see some Creeping Bentgrass in there though. Key point, You said you had sod QUALITY seed, NOT sod. Advice will vary greatly knowing this. I would use Tenacity as a pre-M and it will kill out your Creeping Bent when applied 2 times at 2 week intervals and most importantly, at half rate. May take three passes, but it wipes that stuff out! Pay attention to where the grass looks bluish and dewy in the AM when the good grass is dried out of the dew. That said, on to the next post. Tenacity does not cost 90 per bottle. Not even close. Closer to half that, and is far cheaper oz. per oz. of specialty and big box chems that don't do 1/10th of what it does. Don't have them here...yet, but K-State says Bt in June should control them (and spare the predators). Looks like bagworms have been in Kansas for a while now since this article from 2006 refers to it as an "annual ritual". Here is a link that might be useful: K-State & Bagworms

I've not checked for chloramine and I believe it is a good possibility that's part of the problem. I looked up our water supply analysis on the utility's website and it shows a PH too high for violets - hence my switch to bottled water - but it didn't clarify whether it was treated with chloramine so I would have to have it tested to know about that. I've watched aquarium residents respond to water treatment and sometimes it's not pretty - overtreatment being as bad as no treatment. :( Plants take longer to show the effects of water quality but, clearly sometimes that's not pretty either. It is interesting that some of the plants are quite happy and others not at all. The hairy plant I've had for nearly a year and it's a furry critter but this extra crown fuzz is a recent development and isolated to this plant...I started fertilizing with Schultz about a month ago and the fuzz has appeared since then. I'm confident the issue is chemical / nutrient based. Nonetheless, I will move it out of reach of it's siblings for a while...and I will repot those I'm concerned about tomorrow. Thanks for that suggestion! What I'm hoping is that growers on the forum with greater experience than I, can offer suggestions for PH test and treatment products that work for the violets so I avoid treating with something that creates a new set of problems. Also, I know that extreme or long term over fertilization can cause permanent damage to the plant's tissue, so it will never recover normal growth. Given the appearance of the plants pictured, I wondered if anyone had an idea how long it might take for recovery...if I'm able to restore balanced conditions...I don't think they are too far gone for rejuvenation, but have no experience with this kind of healing. I wouldn't normally bump for this reason, but some jerk on another board has stolen one of my 2011 trip reports (from yet another board!) to lamely try to prove his point that palms can't grow in these areas or occasionally survive temps near 0F in these areas, when clearly they can. His whole ridiculous argument is further evidence supporting my theory that certain people need to think their climate is so precious and special that other areas of the country couldn't possibly grow the plants that they grow...and will attack any messengers bearing evidence to the contrary. That thread will disappear soon - just one of many problems with the primitive and outdated HP&S board - but as you can see based on the street views other people posted and have posted in the past, it's obvious at least 1/2 of the palms in the Las Cruces/El Paso area survived that freeze. Again, because of the incredibly arid climate with generally warm, dry, sunny winter days compared to the SE or PNW. At the time I took the first picture, above, you would have been quite comfortable in a short sleeve shirt. And btw even in 2011, someone replied to my original post (that he copied) that the palms would likely recover, and they were correct.
