Rain finally stopped, more garden photos....

Well, the rain finally stopped this afternoon, and would you believe we actually had some sunshine? :) I took my camera out to the garden and made some more garden photos.

Several of my back gardens around the ponds, and in some shade areas. Also more of the newest beds I've recently added. Here's a few for you then I'll repost the link to my albums if you're interested in looking. :)

Jan, Loved browsing through all the new garden pics. Thanks! I am particularly interested in your oak leaf hydrangea. I've been thinking about getting one, but don't know much about them. What type is yours in the pic above? How old is that bush? Any insect problems I should know about? The corner bed I'm thinking of putting it in is shaded by a pine tree. The soil needs a lot of work (the builder dumped a bunch of clay in this one spot), so it will be about a year before I can get it ready. Any tips?

Beautiful. Your gardens are just so lovely. You have done a fabulous job with all the different sections.

Hi Wow you are an ambitious gardener!! I ripped most of mine out yet again ."Lush planting" turned into "Unmanageable jungle" again lol There seem to be only two kinds of tropical plants those that eat the house ,those that croak unless kept in a biosphere. Would love to get rid of all the yard plants and concentrate on the "Hanging gardens" as I LOVE epiphytes and there seem to be at least a dozen that I've not grown or killed lol. Doubt seriously it will ever happen ,when i told the wife that what was needed was a MUCH larger shadehouse she said I need a lot less plants lol. Sad that now that I have the time and ambition to manage a garden my back refuses to do any heavy lifting and climbing . Well I can enjoy the pix of yours !!! Anna I counted pic #12,with the statue right above the red brom. One with the divided green leaves right behind the small palm?? Sure looks like a "Snowflake tree" to me?? Junglegal You say thats an Anthrurium.?? i didn't know there were any with divided leaves?? Anthurium clavigerum??? will have to look that up!! Anna had a whole bunch of Trevesia palmata seedlings that were doing fine until the neghbors cat knocked them off the table!!! They all croacked . These were the fabled "variagated "ones also. Have been unable to locate even small ones except at that nursery we can't name. lol gary

I'll echo the saying, "be careful what you ask for!". Thanks, that is exactly what is happening! Two months of dry and now we are in a wet pattern. Good rain chances 6 of the next 8 days. It is pouring outside as I type this. I was hoping to miss it tonight, try to lightly work up some ground and get some fall crops (turnips, rutabegas, daikon radish, green onions, and more carrots planted), but that is out the window. With late fall plantings, everyday is critical! I figure I have about 10-14 days or it will be too late. I will plant them when I can and hope. I am planning on putting up low tunnels over them and harvest as long as I can. Maybe I can get fall transplants started tomorrow instead, after I wade through the mud to pick melons! Jay

In georgia we was without rain for over 3 weeks with highs reaching the mid 90's. All fescue lawns I seen was drying out and turning brown, My bermuda looked great with a couple of stress areas(areas that stayed in the sun the longest), But the last 5 days we have gotten over 7 inches of rain. The bermuda is a dark green/bluish color(Looks great). Ill take a pic this evening

Thanks Rita, as you know, a garden is never finished, but mine is finally getting to a stage I really like. :)

Jan,I am glad the rain stopped and you had some sunshine today.Rained all day here,and still sprinkling out.;I spent most of this evening looking at your garden photo's.Your gardens is gorgeous.I just love the way you have the beds here and there.They are done so pretty,and the pond area is beautiful.The little walkways are done so nice.its all so very n ice. Thank you for allowing us to tour your beautiful gardens.

Jean, you are very welcome. I am glad to be able to share my gardens with everyone online. I live out in the country, and don't have too many visitors to my garden. I love to share it with people so my pc is a good way to do it. Come on back anytime, I'm always uploading new photos. :)

Jan, everything is fabulous. I have a hard time keeping up with one acre - I don't see how you manage 3 acres (I think). You must work outside most of the time. However, all the love you have put into your acreage really shows. Thanks for the tour.

Jan, if my garden looked half as nice as your's, I would never leave home. Heck, I wouldn't even go in the house. :) Beautiful! Thanks for sharing and giving me ideas.

Thank You for the invite, Jan.I must admit I have saved your garden shots site to my favorites so I can go back and look at more of your gardens.Its a very injoyable way to spend a evening,if you are feeling kind of out of sorts.I forget about my problems when looking at your gorgeous gardens.
