how to get jpeg photos from email to photobucket or where should?

I had all my photos in my cell phone. Unfortunately it is not a great cell phone so they only way to get them out has been to email them separately as individual jpeg files to my attwebmail account.

The photos are now sitting in my email inbox. I can't figure out how to attach them in bulk or transfer them or what ever will be the most efficient way to get 500 photos from email to an album.

Any other suggestions would be very welcome. I am open to any help. Thank you so much in advance. c

As far as I know the only way to do it is to save them all to your hard drive and then upload them from there to photobucket or some other photo sharing site. Good luck!

I guess your phone doesn't have a memory card that you could've used to transfer them?

i downloaded irfanview and all plugins. i resized a jpeg and it did it but it uses paintbrush or paint and saves the resized image as a bmp extention not a jpeg. when i tried to upload the resized file it was refused because the file is not valid.... ie not jpeg. :( :( so now i am wondering if i should uninstall this product as it is not doing what i want. IMPORTANT question - when i installed irfanview a window appeared asking about associations. i did not know what to do as all associations were NOT checked and i figured it made sense to use these associations so it knows how to open files with different extentions. so i clicked on select all. the next window then asked, and this is the issue, "You want to change current associations and to associate one or many file types with IrfanView! Are you REALLY sure?" that is an exact quote i did not add ! or caps. so i worried about the current wording and when it capitalized really, well i said no. it accepted that. so i assume i ended up with the same thing as if i did not check select all and left all boxes unchecked. should i have gone with select all and replied yes? i was afraid this might cause conflicts with other programs and their functions. not sure what to do. any suggestions? remember win 98 se did all this in mozilla browser. thanks, tom

Log in to Photo bucket Click on upload at the top in green My pictures are on my computer so I clicked on computer Cilck on select photo in green go to your pictures and click and open Then save Go to album in blue click on picture and on HTML code under the picture Now go back to garden forum where you are wanting to put your picture and right click on paste. the code will appear. Go down and preview message and your picture should be there. I just sent one from there of out grandfkids. Need help email me. I will be gone this evening so it might be a while before I write back.

Boy, Leslie. I agree with those people on Photobucket's forum. Comparing the email's wording with what is actually happening makes the email very confusing and chastising. In case you haven't had a chance to read it yet, they're saying if you use the links that are provided by Photobucket (the ones under your pictures), your pics will be okay. However, if you have something posted on the web from several years (doesn't say how long ago), then they are old links and might not work because they were hosted by Photobucket's old servers they no longer use. Or.....if someone sees your pictures on the web and right clicks on them to get the URL and post elsewhere (bandwidth theft), then those pics will not show up as of March 24th because they were improperly linked. So no, you don't have to modify anything in your account. Only those links (to the actual posted pictures) that were posted many years ago and those that were posted using the picture's URL (by right clicking) will have to be corrected. If you posted anything like that on a forum like this one, where you cannot edit your posts, then those pics will cease to show and an error message (not a red x) will replace them.

I adjusted your photobucket account so the html fields show all the time then followed the directions I posted above to post this image from you site: When you first "paste", you won't see the image. Instead, you will see a long string of data staring with the symbol for "less than". [They symbol on your keyboard to the right of the M. Sorry I can't type the symbol in here because it won't show up on this board. The website sees that symbol as telling it to go look for other information. Don't worry tho, when you click on "preview message", your image should be visible. If you want to post more than one image, you just do the same copy and paste procedure for the second picture. You have to do each picture, one at a time. Like this... Anyway, it should work fine now.

thank you Cheryl and memo...I thought that was probably the only way. I have a lot of work to do with writing the book and then adding the pics. It will keep me out of trouble...also out of the garden...sigh. Will have to toake breaks from each I guess. I appreciate the help. c

I saw the coolest thing the other day! maybe this is common knowledge, but a friend has a cell phone with a removable chip that could be inserted into a USB reader!!! What a thing. I may need to look for that in my next phone. I don't envy you your task,c.

We're thinking about getting a fancy phone because it can do things like take photos with a chip. Plus they can double as a laptop now... and if we just get one.... it might be worth it for vacations and travel etc. They do so many functions you only need one little thing that fits in the pocket!

turns out there is an application that you download and it automatically places pics in My photos and photobucket pics them up in seconds..so it was easily done. :)

Yes I could have gotten a memory chip for my phone but you still have to stop and put the pic into that chip...at least it doesn't do it automatically on this phone. So be sure that the chip phone you get does it auto. I am glad I figured out a way to do mine very easily. :)

Most cell phones that take photos and have a memory chip (usually a mini-SD card) will give you an option when you take the photos to store them to the phone or to the card. I know the phones that I've had that can take photos give that option.

Glad you found some software to make the job easier! Now all you gotta do is post them here so we can enjoy them too! ;-))
