Celestial Shore, very early morning opener and excellent branching

Lava Flow.

First photo that I saw was Rita's upload which was stunning. And she mentioned how the effect in person is much, much more. Now, I understand how truly stunning the colors are. Almost metallic, shimmery, truly unique, could be gaudy, loud, but nevertheless, amazing and full of drama!

Pistachio Eyes. Just beautiful form and wonderful color, with such gorgeous throat.

I think LAVA FLOW is an exceptionelly beautiful flower. There are other orange eyed ones but the flowers never seem to be as pretty as LAVA FLOW. At least in my opinion. It is quite winter hardy here but has such a low budcount (6 buds. I think of tossing it each year but then it blooms and I keep it. Such a pretty flower, too bad there are so few of them. Mine is loaded with scapes, maybe it will do better this year.

Your other blooms are pretty also but LAVA FLOW is the prettiest.

OKAY, I'm officially updating my list based on this year's bloomerificness. 1. MIKE LONGO - this was so So gorgeous, green throat, great form, lots of blooms, overwintered for me in a fabric container outside 2. Marietta Polkdot- lots of blooms, foliage is actually attractive, and gave me some interesting colors because of heat (lost its polka-dots, but was still lovely) 3. Last Snowflake. I was out looking and decided to clean up of the dry foliage of newly planted daylilies and found 3 scapes on recently planted Lavender Arrowhead.it was a plant I got from Paul Owen's Slightly Different Nursery. Can't wait till I see it bloom.

Ben, You have some gorgeous daylilies. I love them all, but I can't take my eyes off Pistachio Eyes. It's a must have for me. I look forward to seeing more pictures of that one this year. Love Jelly Maker and Lava Flow also. Thanks for sharing! Michelle

Well I just started collecting this year, I was having problems with my on again/off again lantana that I decided I was removing most of it and replacing with a different perennial. Lava Flow is amazing! I love it. They are all nice, but I couldn't take my eyes off of that one.

All are beautiful, but the picture and your description of Lava Flow makes me want to buy one now. I love gaudy. :o)

Amazing blooms.I just love that CELESTIAL SHORE.Its gorgeous.LAVA FLOW is a Bright one.It shines.
PISTACHIO EYES is another gorgeous bloom. LOve that edge and green throat.

Lava Flow is a strong performer here, too. It multiplies pretty well. This year is its first bloom season and I am seeing bud count of 12. The more I look at Lava Flow, the more I am beholden, almost star struck. Its beauty is so powerful.

It's small wonder that I've read it won the Presidential Award at Valdosta Nationals (two in a row for Frank Smith with H. Mary Alice in 2009 Florida). Truly an amazing daylily.

Daylilies make me feel real good.

we're all in the same happy boat, aren't we? :)

another way I look at it is that the long term healthful benefits of:
de-stressing when walking around the daylily beds, feeling it's Christmas morning everyday during bloom time, exercise as in stretching when trying to reach to pull that weed, mental activity as in thinking about which ones will bloom next, or to buy next, or ..., meeting awesome people in the online community who provide so much inspiration, and enabling, is it? :)
and undertaking more positive activities...like trying to be computer literate and post pictures, learning to take photos (including the umbrella and white paper trick),
make the endeavor sooo worthwhile...
