How do YOU clean your hands after gardening ?
Comments (17)I've tried this. It works great. I used the tropical shea butter scent instead of the pomegranate one. At first I used way too much soap. Then I poured it all in a big bowl and added lots more sugar, until it was as stiff as icing. Firm enough to scoop but not quite pour. Use a 'fancy' sugar spoon or butter knife to scoop it out of your container and on to your damp hands. Scrub and rinse. It will really clean your hands but leave them pretty soft and not dried out like lava soap does. Of course lotion applied afterwards helps too. In the past I've uses similar concoctions made with Epsom salts or backing soda but they tend to really dry out the skin. hmm a face scrub using baby wash and sugar??? I'll try that too. :) Here is a link that might be useful: sugar scrub...See MoreLiquid Soap vs Hand Lotion
Comments (5)I don't use pump lotion. My favorite lotion doesn't come in a pump. However my soap dispenser is always white in both the bathroom and kitchen. If I were to keep both I would make some of those beaded glass identifiers that they use for wine glasses, with a big bead in the center that I could write either an L for lotion or a s for soap. They have gold or silver pens that would work for that, just make sure the bead is not too glossy or it won't take the ink. They could even match the rooms decor. Anyway that's my idea. If you like it then go for it...See MorePlease post / link to your favorite non-motorized hand mixer
Comments (22)dcward89 - I was expecting a fork :) crl_, blfenton, nightowl - Yes, that's what I'm looking for. Lily Spider - I usually do the same (whisk eggs with a fork). mayflowers - thank you for naming the spring whisk. I have one, and occasionally use it, but did not know what it was called. sjhockeyfan - I think it's a lot about the space/volume with which I have to work. For a smaller bowl of something fairly liquid which I'd like to blend quickly, my first inclination would be the egg beaters. (Perhaps the large KA is in use and I don't feel like assembling - and cleaning! - the hand mixer or immersion blender). Also, I grew up baking with my mom and using the egg beater at times, and it feels right. nightowl - the reviews on the oxo beater are quite good (and I do like oxo products), but I sort of wish it were all metal, and one piece. I checked Williams Sonoma, and they link to the same beater you show. The SS rotary egg beaters have mixed reviews. I'd love to find a good German or Swiss one - but searches are not turning any up. I appreciate the input from all, thank you!...See MoreWhat is your favorite hand/skin lotion?
Comments (49)chisue...thanks so much. I ordered the cream. I used Mary Kay on my face and haven't been as happy with it as in the past, so when I use that up, I'll try the lotion you recommended. I may get the healing ointment for my feet...they are tough as leather on the soles and heels. I have had a hard time finding something that wasn't greasy. Here's hoping this is the one for me, thanks so much! malfleur03...my doctor proposed the same thing...it's hard for me to take less baths and showers. I never feel right unless I have one or the other and a clean set of clothes each day!...See MoreMaggie_VA
