Sleeping Beauty awakes!

Finally... The Chinese wisteria is in full bloom this morning, dispensing its heady sweet-clovey fragrance. We had frost warning for days as the flower buds were just starting to open. We were afraid the flowers would get killed. The wisteria seemed to go into hibernation and fortunately the worst of the frost missed us. I had DH take this picture as the sun was going down the evening of the first frost warning. I thought this might be all we'd see of flowers for this year:

The big picture. You can see the young Japanese wisteria at the near end that I was hoping would flower this year but didn't...

Next stage is waiting to see if the clematises that are growing into the wisterias are old enough to put on a decent show this year. The ones in the Chisese wisteria might be able to this year but the one on the Japanese wisteria was only planted early last year so I don't expect much from it for another two years.
