Simplicity in Sleep
I am a terrible sleeper. Tossing. Easily disrupted. Sensitive to light--sensitive to all things. An open closet door or misplacement of reading chair pillow will haunt my dreams, literally. So we keep a minimalist bedroom, which, aside from its calming simplicity (with its cream walls, hardwood floors, white linens, white reading chair, and dresser), it looks beautiful. In a bedroom, perhaps more than any other space in a dwelling, simplicity is simply stunning.
Nighty night.
Nighty night.
This room keeps simplicity through clean lines and a limited and successful palate. The space allows for much storage behind closed doors. Bedtime literature and clothing are close at hand, discreetly.
In this room, the busier details are kept to the headboard and hope chest. The slight variation in linen color adds dimension without distraction.
Another example of great structure and simple decor.
A simple palate and simple geometrics keep this space smooth. That headboard is divine, providing a clear perimeter and drawing together the black in the room.
Another clean space with touches of unexpected color. The splash of red is balanced by overall cool colors of blue and greeen. The metal hospital bed is an unusual minimalist touch.
The wood is kept uniformly light throughout, blending the bed into the very room itself, the need for a dresser lessened by the drawers beneath.
