OT: Blooms Galore, Waterfalls & more

In my last post I shared a photo with a waterfall and some of you seemed to enjoy it so I couldn't resist adding some more, along with more spring flowers.

There are hundreds of lakes and mountain streams around here so we have many, many waterfalls and they are crystal-clear...BUT, they are ice-cold! That doesn't keep us from sticking our toes in the water or sitting underneath them in July or August til we turn blue.

There are lots of things blooming til the daylilies start up (and lots of weeds and slugs from all the rain lately). There are many more pictures so I'll have to do some other posts soon.

my husband actually put his feet in that water this past April and lived to tell about it...

Eloise and you thought we only enable brugs roflmao Good luck with your seeds! Theresa 2 of the Oochroma's came with blossoms. Oh my gosh they are so cute and tiny. Why did I think they were bigger? One is purple..blue? The order says Royal blue. One is Wine Red and then F. Red. Got to go to e bay and check for color. It was a rush rush kind of buying thing ahahahaha Like Kristy when she had a drink or is in pain and finds out later she was on e bay roflmao. But I do have to leave a wonderful comment for her. She was so nice until I had figured out how to pay since I had never verified my paypal account and the amount was to much to go through. Caren you are real funny. Hold off on buying EE's If you just want the normal kind I am offering. You KNOW you will get them REALLY from ME hahahahaha Just either put yourself on the EE offer thread I started or fire me up a e mail. So I remember to send you some too. Lucy

WOW!!! Great photo's... Sounds like a wonderful adventure.. I love the water feature as well.. You are right about the Citrus.. I have a orange in bloom in the house and it is almost toooooo much...LOL The pic's of your place are very pretty.. what a beautiful sunset!!! and I LOVE wisteria.. everything looks great ... We are finally greening up and have blooms on a few things... Thanks for taking the time to post those it was fun looking at all of them Kylie

You want to hear something really crappy. Someone went to the lady's nursery in the middle of the night and stole most of her prized water lillies (not for sale) that were all in bloom and a lot of her newer stock of other plants that she got not long ago. Some people just need to be horse whipped and starved in one of those things in town square where they lock you down in the wooden thing over your head like they used to do and let people throw rocks at them. She knew I was drooling over those water lillies and called and told me to come get one for my birthday that she would rather me have it than it get stolen. I paid her for it anyway and gave her a donation for her cats and bought another kind of water plant she calls tipi from her while I was there. I felt so sorry for her. I told her I would divide it when it was time and give her some back. The thing is huge. I was going to send John over there today to buy me one of the smaller ones that she was selling but she said they wiped out all the good ones. I'm gonna need a bigger pond.

Thank you everyone. I was so worried I was being a PITA. I am so happy you enjoy my pix. GG, I went and peeked at my dat buds before, and I have a Tatula Le Fleur opening..it's the one I thought was going to be a white, but I can see the lilac now. This will be my first dat bloom!! Will post pix after they bloom..keep those fingers crossed for me :) thanks! O and I have more purple buds than I thought..PLUS I have a big one I think will be a yellow..*fingers crossed :) HAHAHA!! Brenda, the water gets cloudy in the afternoon, think its from the sun..I read that somewhere. And there is a very fine film of dust on the liner..can't help it with the dogs always running around, but it's not that bad. It IS great to be able to see the bottom, water so clear. I don't want that algae to come when it's cycling!! but I know it will. Hopefully the plecos will keep on top of it. I am using beneficial bacteria to speed things up. Thanks Rigo :) lol Karyn, if you were closer, I'd def help you out! It's so much fun! Thanks Collielover! I have decided to remove the preform the fish were in previously. I think I cracked it when I was trying to catch the plecos..but I got em today!! they are SO fast. So instead of making a raised brug bed in the middle of the yard with the extra dirt, I will just fill in that hole, and put some brugs there. Still keeping the lil'est preform going though. Started deconstructing today..hey I was able to use the rocks from it, lol. Still need alot more. I have to check the weather again..we still didnt get any storms? Had a bit of rain, couple claps of thunder and that was it. I am counting on that rain! thanks again everyone :)

I love all the happy pansies and what a great idea to plant them in the old tree strump! Your Rhodos are beautiful. Looks like your hubby is having a great time wading cold water or not. Great shots!

Are those waterfalls all near you? If they are, you are very lucky to live in such a beautiful area! I love the pansies, particularly the ones planted in the stump. Marg

Wow! The waterfall pictures really are spectacular. We don't have anything like that close to here. I wish we did! I like your pansies in the tree stump too. Very cute!

The waterfalls are so gorgeous. Are they close to where you live? I love all your pansy plantings, especially the ones in the tree trunk.

It's a good thing the devil isn't here right this minute or I might sell my soul for one of those waterfalls--LOL. What wonderful pictures, and I can tell you if I had been there, I would have been in the water, too, no matter if I turned blue. Love all the pics, fabulous flowers all, and love the pansies in the tree trunk. Might try that here as we have several stumps. Hope you are doing well, and the recovery is progressing positively. Beautiful waterfalls and I love the pansy's!!! They just want to make you smile!

What state do you live with all the waterfalls? We have a few in Arkansas, but not nearly as large and pretty!

THANK YOU to all who peeked at my pictures and those who commented. I hope you all have a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend.
To those who asked, any of these falls, as well as others, are within a 45 minute drive. We visit them often and there are countless others but some you have a good hike to get to which makes it even more fun. Sheila, I live in New Hampshire. Our state is kinda tiny so you can travel to any part of the state in no time at all. Where I live there are lots of mountains and lakes and even though the winters are COLD and long, it is worth it to be surrounded by so much beauty.

Oh how I wish I could live in New Hampshire, maybe some day. My cousin does live in Portsmith and my exe's family lives in Plymouth so I have spent some time there.
