I would love some of your snowberry seeds, also, is that pink honeysuckle a native? I'd also like some of your mountain bluet seeds. Are these also available for SASE, like the others on your list? I noticed you are looking for things you can grow indoors, I have a rooted piece of my Epiphyllum oxypetalum. Would you be interested in trading for that? I think it's a white flower.

Thanks Liz. I am in the stage now of trying to tie up or cut back flopping plants and re-edging my beds (which was at least a year overdue). I think you are probably talking about the picture with brown whirlygig thing in it. Those are similar looking to delphiniums but are actually tall bellflower. I started them last year from seed and they are flowering now for the first time. They are a real hit with the pollinators. The description says they are about 5', but I am 5'4" and some are well over a foot taller than me. Luckily, they seem pretty tough so far and haven't needed any staking even though they are in a spot that gets some shade. I saw at least one of the snowberry clearwings in the garden again yesterday, they are so cute!

By chokeberry, do you mean Aronia melanocarpa? To consider this a groundcover is a bit of a stretch - it is actually a shrub and can grow to be a good sized one in time. It does tend to sucker after becoming established but not aggressively so therefore it doesn't really have the low, real estate-consuming spreading habit common to most plants considered as groundcovers. The euonymous is a good choice but prone to scale. I'd consider Genista lydia also for slopes - very hardy, tolerant of hot, dry conditions and a very early and bright bloomer. It won't hurt to include the aronia as well, but keep in mind this won't really perform as a groundcover. Spacing for the euonymus and the genista should be around 18-24", depending on fast you want them to cover. I've included a link on groundcovers for W.
