Is to share them with you folks, so here goes. More drenched blooms from yesterday.

Some of these I've posted before, but they're just so darned pretty I need to share them again. LOL

Very pretty! And prettier than the previous shots. They seem to be looking more voluptuous now. LOL Thanks for posting the pic of Rock Solid. I got it as a bonus and wondered what it really looked like. The saturated color on Flamingo Parade is scrumptious, and Metallic Blue Eyes is looking might fine for an ffo.

No rain here yet, but no blooms either. I'm enjoying yours--especially impressed with how good your FFOs look. My want list is growing and I don't have any room.

I am delighted that some of my much older rose growing friends have Knockouts so they can continue to have roses. And these folks who used to be Hybrid Tea centric growers embrace their Knockouts with the fervor that used to be reserved for highpointedcenter roses. That said, I went to town today and was surprised at how many plantings of Knockouts are around. I would guess that most were less than two years old. There is a downside: our area has heavy Rose Rosette disease pressure. I wish I could believe that all the grounds crews who tend the Knockouts would recognize RRD and react by at a minimum removing the sick canes. But I am a cynical realist and I know that Knockout and Nearly Wild can stay sick with RRD in these parts for years without dieing, so I can see a future with islands of Knockouts sourcing plumes of mites to spread RRD. And there won't be anything we can do about it.

Exactly, Bunnycat. But, the inspector has seen the pics that I posted on this forum, even knows which hostas that I listed as showing damage. Unless the nursery pitched them, all the inspector has to do is take a few samples of those varieties, and there lies the evidence! I'm so glad that I took pics of them, as a matter of fact I believe I took about 3 dozen pics that day of their hostas. Many of the pics only show the beginning of the damage....you know, that all-too obvious yellowing between the veins. Last year I had gotten involved with another nursery selling diseased plants (HVX) to the public. I called the Dept Of Ag then too. The inspector told me to call him ANYTIME I see something suspious. Those guys/gals are too overworked and can't be everywhere. I think that they really do appreciate our (the public) watchful eye. This inspector is a hosta lover himself and after speaking to him on the phone this past spring, I know that nematodes are a concern to him too. I know WHY a nursery knowingly sells infected plants.....I just don't know HOW they could do it. I couldn't!!!!!!! As the saying goes...profit isn't a dirty word, but greed is. At least IMHO it is. Something that I learned from this 2nd experience.....I think I totally wasted my time talking to the nursery workers, if it be owner...manager or clerk. From now on I'm just going to call the Dept of Ag and get them involved. Oh, and of course take lots of pictures!

The "plugs" are really not smaller plants, that is just the way some of the perennials come in and we plant them in the nursery pots. By the time people buy them the roots have spread out a lot, but they are pretty big plants already. Ozark Nursery sells them at half the price of the potted plant, before the cost of labor, soil and pot are added. Bare root plants are sold the same way until they are all potted up. So if a perennial is $5.99 in the pot, it is $2.99 before it gets that way. I don't know what other nurseries do it that way. Some places get them in already potted and ready to sell. This sale doesn't last very long, only until I get them all potted up. And your timing has to be pretty good, from the 2-3 days when they come in until they are done! Sandy

Diane, like all things - it does pass and this snowfall happens maybe every 20-30 years. Last year there was almost no snow. As for humour...now when I come inside for a coffee break, I'm so sweaty I can actually tear my top off and run around half naked to cool off and no one can see me! They can't even come to the door for the snow piled up - no flyers! no junk in the mailbox! Heaven. The only person who can see me is hubby, who's working and didn't even look up when I ran upstairs for a light top! Now that's what I call love. Nothing but love! He's blinded by it!

I agree, sitting in the house is VERY boring.I rather be looking at DL's,and you have some more beauties here.I LOVE that Safe Island,and METALLIC BLUE EYES is at the top of the list for beauty. LSL is also very pretty,and I never tire of seeing FLAMINGO PARADE.It says LOOK AT ME..It hasn't started raining here yet today, but it sure turned hot and very humid out.I am loving seeing all your pretties, Keep them coming.

LOL Jan. 5 days we have had picture perfect weather. Mild with a nice southerly breeze. This morning we dropped to the low 40's, overcast and now its raining so now I get to catch up on all the pics :-).
Your FFO's look great. Time to go check out the other posts.

Safe Island is my fav, with Hillbilly Heart a close second. But they are all very pretty. Oh, and you can send some of that rain this way, we sure could use some. And in trade, I'll give you my mosquitoes.

I like Flamingo Parade and Rock Solid, but I agree with Karen, they are all pretty.

Please keep posting... that's the only way I'm gonna see blooms today:)

Jan, Wish I had some of your rain. All your pics are beautiful...but I especially like SAFE ISLAND and FLAMINGO PARADE...they both look so tropical and have the names to match.

I agree with everyone else about Flamingo Parade. Its color has a shiny, satiny sheen that I find beautiful. Obviously they are all stunning and I enjoyed them all immensely, but pink...I like. It is funny that in pictures I am really drawn to the pinks, but when I am in the garden I notice the brighter colors so much more. Just call me
