Thought I'd share some recent blooms -

CONNIE BURTON - blooms have been very splotchy - anyone else grow CB and have this problem?

GRAHAM MEMORIAL - showing a nice edge

GREEN MYSTIQUE - only one scape so far, but it had very nice branching

NIGHT EMBERS - new for me - reminds me of a rose

SILOAM PLUM TREE - very consistent bloomer

TERRY LYNINGER - unique, but fades in the sun

TROPICAL SENSATION - new this year, fast to increase

VEINS OF TRUTH - usually I don't like poly's, but this one was very symmetric

Ok...that's enough for this post. I'll save the spidery ones for another time. Hope you all have a nice holiday.

Very nice Kathy....love GM, such a nice edge. I have several of the ones you've shown..it's fun to see other peoples and compare them. I have TL, always great in my garden, but it does get afternoon shade, Night Embers...love that dark color with the gold edge, don't you?
Siloam Plum Tree is a bud builder isn't she? Does it rebloom for you? Mine does.
Enjoyed your photos. Please post the spiders soon. :)

My favorite photo is of Palace Garden Beauty. The rabbits ate my scapes, so it's nice to see a bloom of it somewhere. Your photo of it is excellent! I just love PGB, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for rebloom. Autumn Wood is one of the all-time greats. Mine always blooms much darker than your photo. I enjoyed looking at your album again. Awww, that is so sweet about your DH. Maybe you will convert him to a daylily person, lol. It is pretty! I don't know...I kinda like the tall ones these days. It's nice on the back to not bend over to see, photograph and live/deadhead. I found The Band Played On to be a good plant (hope for you, too). My orange clay, though, did a number on the color...if it had looked like yours, it would still have prime real estate. :) Enjoyed your pictures.

Rita, I do tend to sit back & just admire my yard when the iris or daylilies are in bloom. I adore the dense, lush look like you have. I often wish I had just enclosed an area close to the house & worked on something similar, but I just didn't know how & make it look right. Not good at designing. Also, I have always wanted my driveway lined with flowers & it is getting there. Looks good from the road & I get complements even though it is quite away from the main road. Renee, it is a shame you miss out on the peonies, but I don't feel too sorry for you :) Your garden is magnificent, I'm green with envy to see the plants you grow that I can't! Didn't I see a photo of your brugmansia, here or on another forum? I tried them here, but way too much trouble to overwinter so they can bloom in time. They overwintered in the ground, but were just ready to bloom by the time it got cool. I don't have Starship Enterprise, but Darcy has done really well so far. Got it from our iris sale in 2010, they don't give out huge rhizomes, so I'm pleased with how much it has multiplied & how well it has bloomed. Mantis, I only have one one stalk from Gypsy Romance, but it is gorgeous! I am so sorry someone took your plant, a whole clump! Nasty. I keep hearing about plant thieves, but "knock on wood" it doesn't seem to happen here. At least, I never hear about it. Thanks Kay. I missed getting the first bloom on Diabolique so that is why the crazy photo :)

Beautiful pics, Kathy. I love Connie Burton, Green Mystique and, of course, Tropical Sensation. I noticed my TS multiplied quite a bit this year, too.

Very nice, Kathy!

I especially love Graham Memorial, as I am looking for more DLs with edges w/o eyes.

I also have Night Embers, and am not very fond of doubles, but that one always turns out nice for me, opening much like a rose. It is also a difficult one to photograph, since it is so dark, but you did a wonderful job capturing it's color.

What wonderful wonderful pictures. They are all beautiful. I almost put my nose on the monitor to see if SILOAM PLUM TREE has a fragrance! The foliage on all your plants look so lush and green. Just beautiful.

Glad everyone enjoyed the pics. A quick note about CONNIE BURTON, since there were several comments about it - it is new for me this year. I bought it to cross with other DIPS (hoping to pass on that fancy ruffled edge). It has had about 10 blooms... the one pictured here is BY FAR the best... most were splotchy and had trouble opening. So far, I'm not pleased with it. I'm hoping it will improve with time. If it reblooms and performs better as the summer progresses, I will post another pic with a revised opinion.

My personal favorite in this group would be GREEN MYSTIQUE. Every bloom has been perfect...it is completely open by 7am...and I count 4 branches on this first scape.

Did you have any luck setting pod on Green Mystique? I was thinking about using it this year.

Edward you can set a few pods on green mystique,but it is not an easy pod parent.

Hi Edward, No pods on GreenM yet, but I'm still trying (still have quite a few buds left on this scape). However, I have used GM pollen on lots of blooms and they have nearly all set pods. I hope to pass on the branching and high bud count to my seedlings.

Jane, Graham Memorial blooms very early here. It is already reblooming...that is when it gets the white edge.

I love the color and shape on Connie Burton. Sorry that she is not living up to your expectations. Of course, we are only seeing this one bloom. Hopefully she will improve.
