Recent succulent blooms and new growth

I'm always excited when my succulents bloom because I figure it is a sign that I'm doing something right (or that the plant is about to die and is desperate to reproduce). So here are a few recent blooms from plants I've had for a while.

From Succulents Winter 2010

Fenestraria rhopalophylla. Pretty excited about this one as when I lived back east it was a plant I always wanted to grow but always killed pretty quickly. I had lots of compact new growth and then was rewarded with this bloom. The white crusty stuff on the side of the pot is pigeon poop! My old balcony was open and my poor plants got dive bombed all the time. I had to move the little ones in close to the building to try to shield them but even that didn't always work. Luckily my new balcony is roofed over so my plants are protected from pigeons and the elements.

Corpuscularia lehmannii had several blooms.

Only got one bloom from several Lithops salicola that I repotted into their own pots from a large community pot that was in bad shape. When I got them they were badly burnt and covered in scale. Since repotting into their own little pots they seem much better and now that they are dormant look just as they should.

Here is a little series of Cheridopsis peculiaris starting with a picture shortly after I bought it last winter and then pics showing how the old leaves dry up and the new ones push out.

I love this plant. It looks like a little alien. Peculiaris is a perfect epithet for a peculiar little plant.

Old base and leaves have shriveled up and the new base which had been visible poking out of the upright leaves all along now starts to split.

Now that they have split apart the base starts to flatten.

A few months later the new base is almost completely flattened and the new center leaves start to grow.

I'll post more pictures as the center leaves start to grow bigger.
