Juniperus scopulorum ÂBlue Haven = (Blue Heaven) one in the same with information available. I have a gut feeling 'Blue Heaven' is a separate cultivar but couldn't find enough convincing information to post. Growth habit and foliage color will vary with cultivar. Yours will be mostly green. Exchange them for the blue cultivars. Dave

the next month or so.. is when local high end dealers.. make their orders for late winter/early spring delivery ... so now is the time to visit with a manager .. and speak directly with whomever orders in stock ... check out the link .... if you wish to go cheaper, in volume ... i wouldnt get too tied up in the name game.. any blue creeper is probably going to be blue enough for you .... sometimes the old standards are better than the newer ones anyway.. that is why they have been around forever .... so i would go on height, if that is the secondary important part ... in other words.. dont focus solely on color.. lets say that part is a given ... they will all grow in some shade ... but they ALL PREFER full sun ... the only impact is a slower growth rate.. and perhaps the intensity of spring coloration .... or not.. we really can not predict.. with any certainty.. how it will all work out in your project ... ken Here is a link that might be useful: link

not sure i have ever seen tip blight on any of my various J horizontalils ... HERE IN MI this ??? is just like screening ... spacing is to your whim ... depending on how fast you want them to fill in ... i put 3 about 8 feet apart.. on my 5 acres... and they filled in.. just fine.. who knows how long it took ... properly spaced.. they should NEVER need pruning ... i have no clue why planting them closer.. would create such ... i edge mine.. with the riding lawnmower ... if they grow into the grass.. they are fair game ... lol ... but if yours need shortening.. dont just give them an edge haircut.. track the offender deep into the plant ... and cut it way back ... others will take dominance.. and sometimes.. you find they rooted in ... ken

I have about 15 blue star junipers spread out over a large yard. They have all been in the ground for 15 to 20 years now and are about 10' across. They have been super healthy for all these years until last year. Then they started to turn brown from the inside out. I have lost a few of them already and they are starting to look really bad this year. I tried shaking a branch for bugs but couldn't see anything. I took off all of the dead branches last year and now whatever is wrong is going crazy on them. Like I said these plants have been in great shape until recently, nothing has changed and I fear I'm going to lose all of them. I'm willing to try whatever might work, please give me some ideas as to what to try. I live in the PNW Seattle area. Thank you in advance.
