I'm right there with ya!!!! I just got 2 of my spring orders from the L.A. . Nancy from Hem Haven sent me Parrott Jungle (I've been covetting this one for a while)& she sent me Mountain Almond as a bonus.Both were Awesome !

Ronda from Rondas flowers sent me loads of stuff and all way more fans than I paid for. I got Egyptian Queen, Primal Scream, Brer Rabbit's Baby, Mary Ethel Anderson, Future Design, Beguiled Again, and Jim Cooper Memorial.

Both orders were very well packaged and nice healthy fans(sorry no pics). I just can't wait for summer to see blooms!!!
I will get from these ladies again :-)!!!

Very nice looking daylilies from Marietta. I too, ordered from Marietta for this spring and have three coming. I have ordered from them before so I know you always get nice plants from the Shooters.

Congrats!! I always love finding those boxes on my porch. I got my first order today - Ava Gardner clump! Yippee!!

I had ordered from Marietta last year and they are wonderful. All the plants I ordered from them last year came back so the plants passed their first test of living up north.

I hope your ED BROWN does okay. I planted it last year which I bought from a LA seller and mine is struggling after our winter but I'm not giving up.

Wow, today I received my order from Karen Newman at Delano Daylilies, and she wrote me a note to say the fans may be smaller than Florida raised DL, but I can't get past looking at the roots!!!! Plus the number of fans, I asked for a double order on Cinderella's Dark Side and I received 11 fans. Plus she sent me two bonus plants. Every DL I ordered is a very generous size, at least four fans.
The BIG questions is .. What DO I DO WITH THEM?? I am depending on all you experts out there. We have had non stop rain all day and it's predicted to rain pretty much all day tomorrow along with a dip in temperature like around mid 30's tonight, 40 tomorrow high YIKES, The DL are nicely dried and loosely wrapped in just slightly damp newspaper. My thought is to wrap them back like they were, and put them in the garage for Tuesday, then start soaking them on Wednesday, and plant on Thursday when I get home from work. Of course Thursday high is going to be in the upper 60s !!! Then a stretch of at least 3 days getting into the lower 70s and plenty of sun. What do you all think? If there is something better, please tell me!!

You could do it that way, basicly thats what I did the first year I got mail orders. I could not get them all planted right away as I had too many. I just kept them wrapped up in the garage and kept working at planting. I did notice that the last ones which were about four days to get into the ground, were getting alittle yellow. But they all grew fine. And it was warmer because these were Marrott orders from CA and he only starts shipping mid June.

Last year I just used the soak em method. I unwrapped and put them to soak. Some were soaking a week or more because box after box of orders were arriving last year and I could not get them planted fast enough for a while. They don't mind being in water for a long time. They will even grow while soaking.

Its pouring rain here too and very chilly and damp.

Thanks so much, I feel better now. I wasn't sure how long a 'soaking' could last either, you answered both questions that I had.

Wow Cindy, that's a nice bunch of dl's from Karen. I had an email from her today saying she has shipped mine also. I've been buying from her on the LA for several years now and always get great plants. I also had an email from Judy Waddell (Kygarden) that she had shipped my order today so looks like I'll be planting later this week also. I only have a couple more small orders coming and I'll be finished up for this spring. Most of mine came in in March or early April.
Your plan to store until you can plant sounds fine to me, but you could also put the roots in a little water to hold them. Just don't immerse the crowns in the water. They'll keep in water for days.
