Planting Question from New Grower --

Hello,

I seek your advice!

I am a newbie in the DL department. I have received a couple of orders, which arrived in very different condition. One company sent its daylilies cut way down low almost to the roots (almost dead looking); the other sent huge clumps with fans a foot long in some cases and even old stems attached. I planted both as is after I received them.

Now: the small ones are perking up and out as green and healthy looking as grass; the bigger fans are just sitting there (fine, I'm sure, roots-wise). My question is, should I cut the big fans down low, like the others, to encourage them to come out anew?

Thanks for your responses. They will help me a lot!
