Marietta Gardens wows me again!

And I haven't even gotten my plants yet! I received an email from them confirming my order and that it has shipped. It also included the name of the bonus they are sending - Put and Put, one of their 05 intros! That one daylily is priced higher than the rest of my order, including shipping!

Speaking of which, the rest of the order was BANNED IN BOSTON, DREAM SPIRAL, GENEVA FIRETRUCK and PAGAN RITUAL.

Does anybody grow Put and Put? Is it as gorgeous as their picture of it? Thanks!

I'm not familiar with Put and Put, but the photo is beautiful. Marietta has always been generous sending out its own intros for bonuses. I think I have Marietta Polkadot coming with my order.

Wow, looks like everyone made out really, really well with their Marietta orders. They were the first real daylily farm I ordered from when I started in 2007. They sent me nice plants but at the time, I did not have anything to compare them to. I ordered again this year, 3 of the 2009 intros, and just received an e-mail today saying my order had shipped. So I will soon see for myself how they compair to my other favorite sellers.

My first flower opened on my Flash Force row that I put in. Lots of them have scapes so I will get bloom this year even though they are really new and still small plants. What a cutie. I am really going to like a row of them in bloom once they get settled in . The scapes that are there now are REALLY short and they are obviously going to bloom like that this spring. Well, time will get them settled in. In back of this row I have my Chocolate Cherry Dreams and they have scapes too but not near blooming quite yet.

hi candace - yes i have stacks of flagstone here. Some of it I collected over the years from various sources and/or was at my old place, some of it was buried deep in this yard when i moved in and i discovered big cut side-walk style slabs when i started rototilling. you're welcome to come over and take a look... i would post a picture of the stacks, but my palm pilot (my only digital camera) syncing is on the fritz at the moment and i don't have time right now to fix it. mostly it is shaped medium grey slabs in either long skinny rectangular shapes or big patio/sidewalk blocks. ah.... check the pictures at http://web.mac.com/ceanderson ... i threw up a quick website to show someone pics of brooklyn gardening and you can see some of the stones in the patios and walls on those pages but i am mucking around in the backyard today and tomorrow packing the stuff from my beautiful shed (also for sale and in the pictures) and if you shoot me an actual email I can contact you directly. Treats! My order isn't coming for another four weeks (I'm going away in mid-May and didn't want to abandon newly planted DLs with only my husband to babysit), and I'm getting so anxious. Everything that I ordered from them last year is coming up beautifully.

Their professionalism in the daylily world is what impresses me: promptly returned phone calls, order acknowledgements and shipping updates (also they take credit cards adding another layer of consumer protection). After TRYING to contact a few other daylily sellers this year, I finally just gave up and went with Marietta. Marietta is run like a real business and when it comes to giving away my hard earned money that's what I want....

My bonus was Sugar Pie Dumplings. My purchases were: Shores of Time and All in Ruffles.
