Where are they located? IN PA? Do they have ones that are not expensive. Evergreens that would work in Florida, do you think? Thanks

They're in Louisiana, and my impression is that they sell many of the newest and best daylilies that do well in the south. En fait, you can order en francais si vous voulez. :)Check them out: I'm sure you'll find more daylilies you want than you have room for. :) BTW, don't operate on the assumption that you want only evergreens. The evergreen/dormant distinction is a good first start to figuring out whether a daylily will thrive in a particular region, but you should also bear in mind that some dormants are tender, and some evergreens are hardy. Best bet = checking with sellers and display gardens in your area to see whether they successfully grow something that catches your eye.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately they daylily grower closest to me, who is most helpful, does not have and has not grown a great variety. The next closest one was not very forthcoming about information, except to say he only has what is show on his website. He has very expensive ones, and his cheaper ones are not attractive, color wise, to my eye. For now, I am mainly doing everygreen, as i want the areas to look nice all year. Once i have lots of daylilies (thriving too) then I can maybe put in some dormants. How do you remeber where the dormants were so you don't plant something where they were by mistake during their dormant season??

missylin, I use metal plant markers with the names of the CV's printed on them. That way I always know where my daylilies are planted. When you decide to try dormants make sure you do your homework first. There are dormants that will not do well in the deep south. Some dormants, and even some SEV's need several months of cold weather to perfom well during the growing season. I believe Karol Emmerich made this comment regarding one of her CV's....Woman At The Well, and that one is a SEV.
