This write-up from Research Buzz describes a new (beta) site. When it is up and running properly, you will be able to upload an image of a flower and the database will be searched for similar flowers. I tried it and it is beta. It suffers from a lack of flowers in the database, no roses or hollyhocks. Try it out and add some identified images. The site is interesting and has potential.

GazoPa Gets In Bloom

Posted: 24 Mar 2010 03:50 AM PDT

You might be familiar with GazoPa, a Web site that allows you to find similar images based on an image you provide. (ItÂs available at http://www.gazopa.com/; I wrote about it in ResearchBuzz last November.) GazoPa is releasing a new service thatÂs much more focused: itÂs all about flowers.

Hitachi America announced private beta at GazoPa Bloom yesterday. You can sign up for an invitation at http://bloom.gazopa.com. This site is for exploring flower images and, if you need help identifying a flower, uploading images and letting other people try to identify them for you.
