Nell now your pulling at my heartstrings, any kind of daisy I can get my hands on will end up in my garden. Perennial Asters, Echinacea, Shasta, Rudbeckia (I think this winter these have perished), Helenium, even Feverfew and I'm sure there's more. I think when it comes down to it the daisies are my favorites.
I'm so obsessed with these it's not a matter of what to combine them with it's a case of finding a bare spot to plunk another one in.

Nell, I have the same three you mentioned in my corner cottage garden and cut flower rows. I put in a dozen Highland White Dream daisies last summer, and I'm hoping they will be nice for cutting. I'll be starting 72 Prairie Sun rudbeckia in a week or two, and if I can find the room I'd like to get some more echinacea started too, just the old standby purple coneflowers. The flowers are nice in bouquets, and when they get a little old in the field, I strip the petals off and just use the center cones with sunflowers.

DW had daisies somehow incorporated into her wedding dress and her bouquet. Does peu de sois sound like anything? I probably have it spelled wrong.

Oh Oh. Grandson #1 is calling from his nap, which he is not taking, so I have to go.

I can't say dasies have ever been a favorite of mine. But they are very useful; somehow the garden just doesn't look complete without them. You know what I mean? I really like my 'Goldrush' Daisy, though I do wish it would bloom longer. Its the same with Echinacea.
I forgot that Feverfew where in the daisy family! Feverfew is weedy here, but I always keep a few for fillers. I love seeing the mutated ones that turn into pom-poms!
I have a love/hate relationship with Asters. I love them but they do not care for my yard. Try as I might I cannot keep the ground moist enough for some of them. I love NY Asters, but had to get rid of several last year because of powdery mildew. My 'Monch' has always done well though. I love it even though it flops.

I have really come to love Helenium (I forgot that was in the family also!). I have three. If I had more room I would have a bunch of them!
My favorite in the Daisy family is, hands down, Erigeron (fleabane). I bought the blue 'Azure Fairy' several years ago and love it! No mildew or flopping, and they bloom forever with deadheading. I want to get more this year.

I grow rudbeckia and gaillardia, shasta daisies, Clara Curtis Mum, aster Raydon's Favorite, and a few native asters with tiny white flowers, and I found a leftover package of the shastas and now have lots coming up in a pot to plant here and there. My Becky daisies faded away. I cannot grow heleniums here! I have tried twice now and will add them to the delphiniums as "do not waste money again!" list.

I used to grow the summer aster 'Frikarti' and should do it again or Monch. Then I have chamomile scattered all over and few remaining anthemis that I really liked. Almost forgot white and puple/pink echinacea.

I think that's it for daisy-like flowers.

* Silver Princes Shasta Daisy (I grew these plants from seed three years ago)

* Crazy Daisy Shasta Daisy (NEW! Growing from seed this year. The flowers look like Marguerites! Very frilly.)

* Gloriosa Daisy (growing them from seed) - Love these big Sunset yellow and orange flowers. Reminds of a desert sunset on the mesa.

I have some Clara Curtis seeds I got in a trade. Never have tried to grow them yet. Guess I'll give them a try. Thanks for reminding me, Glenda! They sure are pretty.

I have English Daisy seeds to sow in April. I direct seed them into the garden every year. So pretty.

Not sure that you would call these daisies, but I bought a one little pot of Coreopsis verticillata 'Moonbeam' & one of Coreopsis hybrida 'Sweet Dreams' Coreopsis last year. I planted the Moonbeam in the potager. There a dozens of tiny seedlings coming up around where the mother plant was. They are growing to the front of a bed of Double Pink Knock Out Rose and Double Yellow Knock Out Roses. Moonbeam's soft, buttery yellow color will look pretty in with those roses. Self-seeded Chamomile is coming up and California poppies that I planted on the 15th are up. Tall Mauve Bread seed are everywhere in that area of the garden. I never know where they will move to each year. Pink & white Tasha Tudor HH's transplanted behind against the fence and Black and Blue Salvias I moved back there last fall. I transplanted a Don Juan (cl) rose back there to grow on the fence. Larkspurs and Heleniums are coming up on the other end and white Baby's Breath. Bright Periwinkles and white and purple Sweet Allysum will probably coming back from seeds, and who knows what else. I love bold splashes of color throughout my garden.

I don't know if the Sweet Dreams reseeds or not since it is a hybrid, but the plant kicked it - darn it. Sweet Dreams Coreopsis is pink with purple to red centers. Very unusual colors for a Coreopsis.

I love those Sweet Dreams coreopsis. I planted one, but it didn't return. It seems that I've read several posts that said it didn't return for them either. Have you read of success stories with it?

My moonbeam is emerging nicely. It was a beauty last year. Isn't it exciting when perennials start emerging like old friends coming back from some long trip?

Oh I too love Daisies! I grow Becky (love) and Alaska (not so much) Shata Daisy, Bluebird Asters, Black-eyed Susans, Purple cone flower and feverfew. I grow them with zinnias, roses, Butterfly Bush, and mixed together. I plan on growing 'Becky' along the front of my house in front of the pink knockouts I just planted. ~Meghan

I grew crazy daisy -- love them. Looked like chrysanthemums but more frilly.

I have a couple of the Double Feverfew. I don't know how Feverfew first came in my yard. I know it was many, many years ago. Probably by seed. Over the past few years I have gotten several mutants that turn into the doubles. They range from semi-double to fully double, which are like large pom-poms. I always keep those ones! I have a pic somewhere... but I think I have shown it too often anyhow.

Has anyone grown oxeye daisy 'May Queen'?

I have had trouble keeping shasta daisies alive in North Florida.

I love Bitterweed, My wild egrigon, feverfew, four nerve daisy, blackfoot daisy, aster oblongifolia( a good replacement for dry areas), heath asters, wood asters of varying types. Echenacia augustifolia and E palida. I am experimenting with saw leaf daisy this year.

Mudsnake, have you had trouble keeping Shasta daisies alive after the first year or two? They compete with their own selves for root space as they multiply and really like to be divided.

Blackfoot daisy, I almost forgot about that. Melampodium is one of the best reseeders, and a great summer bloomer.

The shasta daisies did well until July of their second year, then they died. Maybe division would have saved them.
Tallahassee nurseries sell oxeye daisy as shasta daisy 'May Queen' and the sign says they do well here. Have you tried 'May Queen'? It is supposed to be tough, but I have read that it can be invasive as well.
As for melampodium, it doesn't seem to like the summer rains, but I have started some from seed this year and will try them again in another location.
