I wonder if I can figure out the size of the plant by knowing the size of the pot. Are they any teeth on the leaves, and stripes? I found a picture of A. cooperi with long leaves that are narrow, and seem channeled like narrow leaves of Sansevieria aethiopica. We are in luck, I found the pictures of both A. pendens and like the name implies is pendulous has wide leves compared to A. cooperi, cooperi I don't consider a neat grower. It is a sloppy grower. The teeth are small and not that sharp, the apex being soft. Look up Aloe suprafoliata, it is distichous for the fist 15 years of life, give or take. I don't believe either species that you suggested is distichous. How large is your plant? as they get older the leaves can change, and then again it could be a hybrid. Are the leaves two ranked forming a fan? I am sorry about the questions, but I'm really trying to be of help and need more information. Just enjoy the plant and when it flowers send me a email. I would like to know about it, like what color are the flowers. Norma

Thanks, Norma - Sorry I didn't give more information. The pot is 7" wide and 7" deep, although I plan to repot. There are really what looks like two plants side by side in the pot, but I'm guessing that the smaller of the two is an offset. There are several VERY small offsets as well. They are all showing a fan effect in their growth - leaves going out to the left and to the right, just opposite each other. The longest leaf (tenth from bottom of stack of 13 total) is 13-14" long, and its width at the base is 1.25". This makes the overall plant width 26-28". The smaller plant is about 17" wide, with a stack of ten leaves total.
The top two leaves growing out of the larger plant are changing their direction, veering off from the straight fan structure. I don't know if this is due to the plant's maturing or to the fact that this larger plant is laying on its side, and the newer leaves perhaps reaching for the light.
The teeth on the leaf edges are not super soft, but not hard enough to be prickles. The teeth are that pale green-white that the spots are. The leaf color is a kind of apple green, whitish at the base.
I did look up Aloe suprafoliata, but the pictured plants looked quite a bit different from mine. It looks like a sturdier, stouter, more densely-stack plant, and the color was quite different.

If all this info helps, that's great, but I plan to do what you suggest: just enjoy the plant. Actually, I only wanted to know the name so I could look up the care for it, especially the low temps and the heat/sun tolerance. I have most of my succulents out on the balcony (west-facing in Sacramento, CA) and sheltered from the cold, but the more delicate are indoors near the west window. The ones outdoors seem generally to do best if they stay out there all winter, being brought inside only when the temp gets below 32, but knowing nothing about this plant, I didn't like to risk it.

rosemarie - Thanks for your response and the link to Aloe lineata. In its growth structure, A. lineata looks a lot like my plant, although more disciplined. What a knockout! I also checked for more photos on the web and got quite a few. The main difference between lineata and my plant seems to be the spots. I couldn't see any spots on the photos, and mine has very noticeable ones. Still, the fan habit is so definite, and your photo is the only one I've seen that shows the white/pale green at the base of each leaf. I guess I'll keep my plant indoors in the window until Spring, and maybe when I do put it outdoors, it will give more clues (I know it's not getting enough light right now). Anyway, thanks for the help! (And I love my plant, so what does it all matter?)
