I need to know something, can anyone here help me?

The other day someone gave me a link to the Banner Daylily Gardens. I typed and emailed an ordered, or I tried to order some of their daylilies.

Unfortunately I have not heard back from them. If I don't hear back from them by Tuesday I'm thinking of just ordering from someone else.

If I knew for sure that they got my order and were interested in processing it and letting me know how much I owed I wouldn't worry. But since I have not head anything from them I'm wondering if ya'll were me would you just forget it and order from someone else or what?

I don't want to miss out on any good deals and the longer I wait the more likely some of the others are going to be sold out of the ones I can afford and want.

I would appreciate ya'lls thoughts regarding this.

If you didn't make payment, or give them any credit card info. , I would just get them elsewhere.
I'd go to LilyAuction and pick up some bargains this time of year. Hope this helps

Banner appears to be a small business, possibly a one person operation. I would give them at least two or three business days to respond. If you don't feel you can wait that long, then email them with a notice, to confirm your order by a certain time/date, or cancel the order. If they don't respond on time, you will have a basis for canceling your order.

If you mean by peace maker, giving in and ending a stand off and if standing your ground results in the same behavior my daughter tried on me when she was 3 years old to get out of trouble (and it didn't work!), those are not very good options to choose from. I'm voting for 'cutting your losses'. In fact, you aren't just cutting YOUR losses, your cutting your son's losses because as much as you might love this woman, she is poison to your child. (and your relationship to him) Anyone that thinks the way to resolve their problems at age 27 is to put a pillow over their ears or hold you on the ground and change your mind with kisses or sex, does not have the skills for an adult relationship. Too bad you didn't see it sooner, but really... people don't usually change and you can try to stay as long as you can put up with it, but eventually you will 'escape' and by then, how much damage will it have done to your son? Will he be able to forgive you if your relationship with him is destroyed or damaged? Would it be worth it? R*U*N Vbunch R*U*N*!!!!

there are a lot of little ones who don't/won't start talking until they are older. My nephew was one! Nothing wrong with him, just two lots older sisters who said everything for him, (and with those two, getting in a word of your own can be a challeng!), and he wasn't ready yet. When the child is ready, he'll start talking and you won't get him to shut up! The reasoning behind teaching an infant to sign, is that the "terrible two's" aren't as bad, because they don't get frustrated because they can't communicate since they can usually get their point across by sign. Dilly_dally, LOL! At least you must not have told them you were pleased to meet them improperly, then! The direction you are holding your fingers can make all the difference! That was explained with the above example, very emphatically by my instructor at the time. As the friend of a deaf person, you have my thanks for your efforts in making it easier for your customers. I'm sure it was appreciated. My DD is a photographer who has several deaf customers. She doesn't remember much of the signs themselves that I had taught her, but she finger spells a lot! If she couldn't remember, or didn't know, a sign, she finger spelled everything for them that she needed to. They were repeat customers for that very reason. Firemanswife, You are great! And what an accomplishment for your. You had great doctors. My friend, Gale, has/had an implant. She still did more lip reading than hearing, last I talked to her. Unfortunately for her, she had severe back problems and had to have surgery. Every time they had to do an MRI, they had to remove the implant and she would get an infection. And when she had surgery, of course the implant wasn't in because of the infection, and the nurses ignored her when she needed help, because they couldn't just answer the bell over the intercom. I don't know if she still has the implant or not. The only contact I have with her right now is thru email. Please ignore any typos. I am typing on a rubber keyboard and think I have typed a letter or made an upper case, or space and it didn't type! Tami

I chose the Kohler Whitehaven sink in the 32-33" width with the tall apron. It's deep and plenty big for a little wash basin on one side. I also have a roll out dryer rack that sit across the top when I want to dry dishes. I love it! While I chose the seasalt color, and it IS beautiful (looks like suspended tapioca) honestly, it doesn't show up as much as I thought it would and I would just go with white if I had to do it over again.

I agree, either no shutters of stained cedar to match your posts. I would do sparse foundation planting with lots of native plants out in to the yard. I love your house it almost has a Gothic on the prairie vibe.

Ellen at Banner Daylilies is a one-person operation. Please give her a few more days to contact you. She might have been out of town. Her daylilies are very nice.

I just want to Thank All of YOU. Ellen did reply and she was very nice to deal with via email.

I am looking forward to getting some of her daylilies this Spring.

We never know what were dealing with when ordering for the first time from someone we don't know. I can tell you she has been very easy to talk with and ask questions regarding my order. Come on Spring and lots of blooms.

I'm so glad it worked out. I refrained from replying here earlier since I was the one who referred you to Ellen in the first place and you don't know me from "anywho" either.

Your experience (once she replied) was similar to mine. Very friendly and helpful. She had told me to expect delays in e:mail while she travelled out of state. Being a one person business I can hardly imagine what it must be like to keep up with customers- though honestly I'm thinking of leaving corporate life to do something similar in the near future myself.

And I agree....COME ON SPRING!

Well Berrytea4me, I was surprised when I logged onto her website and saw what all she does do. I was amazed at the dogs and all.

She must really be one whopper of a person to have so many irons in the fire. I can't keep up with just one.

I wish you the best of luck in following your dreams and giving up corporate life. I just hope that it will pay the bills. I would be afraid of losing interest in the plants when it becomes a job instead of a love for the plants. Who knows anything is possible if you dream big enough. LOL I'm still dreaming of turning this ugly farm into my tropical paradise. It's been a long slow process but I'm getting there plant by plant and seed by seed. I don't know that I'll live long enough to see it all fall into place but it sure is fun trying. Also, it's a lot prettier and I'm in hog heaven when I have my hands in the dirt and my face in the sun.

Oh can I relate to your last statement, Marian. I have no dillusions of life in the nursery biz being easy and I'm not afraid of hard work or failure. Everything worth having takes risk, hard work and a lot of faith... but the idea of getting out of my air-conditioned, artificial light, not a second of privacy cubicle farm, making $Ms for corp. exec's who only cut my benefits & pay while raising their own, to be out digging in the dirt with the sun on my back is my idea of heaven on earth!

Good luck with your gardens. I know a farm can be a lifelong art project- I used to have some acreage and never left it alone for a season w/o putting a new bed in somewhere. It can be a long labor of love. Hopefully you are able to pass the legacy on to someone who will carry on the efforts so you can smile at it from heaven.

Thank you for your well wishes on my dreams. I've wanted to run my own business for better than 25 yrs but trying to settle on one thing and having the confidence for business management held me back. I have chosen the garden industry because a)every personality/career test I've ever taken says I should be in high-tech or plants b)I've managed to keep my interest in gardening for my entire life c)I've started a business within the safety of a corporation so I know I can do it on my own now d)I've researched the industry enough to know that it is possible to double my income as a small biz owner if I use my business knowledge wisely- not everyone can do that but it is possible.

Ellen, is the Lily chatroom you are talking about affiliated with the AHS e:mail robin? I just asked to sign up for the robin.
