1. In Toronto you would want to grow long day onions. 2. a pkt means seeds, Onions can be grown from seed, but it is more difficult than starting with plants that have been professionally grown. 3. In your area, onion sets should do fairly well. These are small dried bulbs of long day storage onions usually Stuttgarter (yellow), Ebenezer (yellow), Red Weatherfield, White Ebenezer. 4. Like all hybrids in general, hybrid onions do not come true from saved seed. Only the most dedicated seed saver saves onion seeds tho, they are biennials takes two years. They seed the second year. so hybrid -open pollinated may not be an argument for you. I am in a short day area( grow onions in winter) so I will be no help with variety. Stokes has a vast assortment for your area.

Looks like a very etiolated Anacampseros rufescens. I'm sure you can get more compact growth with more sun.

Thanks everyone looked it up on the HL and the flowers look the same and it is bluer early in the season then turns more green so Seymour will now have a tag. Alexis717 I have told people that I would feed them to Seymour but normally just my husband and daughter. HostaLes I still have a vhs machine along with a few beta tapes that were before vhs go figure pack rat that I am. Post a close up of the Cotyledon orbiculata (I believe) - the leaves look really nice! Edit: I caught a better look in the photo of your ferocactus. I have a very small cutting only and can't wait for it to get bigger.
