'Page' has exceeded my expectations for juice quality. Grapefruit is not a huge favorite of mine, but page has just enough of it in its parentage to add an incredible depth of flavor. It's a very consistent bearer as well.

I don't know if it has been determined whether or not the Page mandarin requires a cross-pollinator. Mine produces heavily, but then, it is surrounded by many other citrus cultivars. The suspicion it does is due to being 3/4 Minneola, which does not produce well without cross-pollination and is self-incompatible (it cannot pollinate itself), and a Clementine mandarin, which some varieties also produce better with cross-pollination. It may be that the Page is simply parnthenocarpic, andis able to produce fruit without pollination, which is the case with the majority of citrus cultivars. If Silica sees this post, he may be able to provide additional info about the Page. However, what you see are indeed fruit. Most citrus set much more fruit that it can develop, so don't be surprised if you see some fruit drop. Page will mature here where I live between November and January, so you should be able to pick mature fruit in about 7 to 8 months. As far as helping along the process - just a good, regular fertilizing program will help to support the leaf canopy which will then be able to support fruit. I would check with your local extension office, as you indicate you're in zone 7, which is pretty marginal for citrus. So, you don't want to fertilize too early, in case you have a late freeze, or too late, as you'll want any new flush to have a chance to develop and harden for the same reason. mrclint: Nice tree. Glad to see others singing the praises of Page mandarin hybrid. Most people don't know it is closer to a grapefruit than an orange (in its genes). Page responds very well to fruit thinning as Patty mentioned for those suffering with small Page fruit. When I moved from Houston, in 04, Page was the first tree I planted. The tree was on citrange rootstock. That Christmas eve night it started snowing about 9 PM and continued until about 4am. My Page and about 60 other potted citrus were covered with two layers of heavy duty frost blanket so I did not care. Next morning there were 8 inches of wet snow on the ground. I could not see where the frost blanket was! It looked like a big igloo out there. I now have two more Page trees on standard trifoliate. One was supposed to be a Lee. The original Page was damaged in a bad freeze in the winter of 09/10. The bark split all the way past the graft line. But it is holding up better than I thought possible. My frost blanket ripped that night.

No need to remove the flowers; and if you do, the tree will likely try to make more. I would leave them alone and think good thoughts; some citrus, if treated well will flower and fruit twice per year.

The longer you wait, the better, after that they get dry but that takes a while. Sweet like a eating a spoonful of sugar does't do anything for me. There is a guy that goes by the "Mr. Texas" in your neck of the woods that grows just about anything in a big way, check him out. Keep eating, pretty soon the tree is bear and then you have the answer.

Very nice page orange. I purchased a tree last Spring and just picked the only fruit that set on. Super yummy! Can't wait until my tree looks like yours.

Page is my favorite juicing citrus. Love it, much better than orange juice. My Page is a bit behind yours, but coloring up. It is extremely prolific, I always need to thin this tree.

I ate my first Page fruit 2 years ago and really liked the flavor. This is one citrus that I wish I had planted many years ago so as to now have bunches of fruit to juice. Enjoy your great little tree. This is one tree that deserves year-round care/feeding/watering/mulching.

serge94501, our climate is great for citrus, but it's also great for citrus pests. Also, some of our soils are less than ideal for citrus, usually a little high pH and lacking certain elements.

A little 'Page' mandarin juice & Tanqueray on the rocks --perfect for sipping after a day of plinking around in the garden. Served up fresh right there on a dirty potting table. :)

Very nice mrclint. I can't think of a better way to relax without a partner. A bit of juice from a pomegranate or blood orange for color maybe.

Gotta say that vodka works much better with any citrus that isn't lime.
