It's hard to believe but I have to blooms in January, both are small flowers.

WOW....! I can't believe you have daylilies blooming in January! I won't see mine start til July...boohoo. Your photos give me hope that soon all of you in the warm zones will start posting again. I'm so glad you have blooms and it's so nice to hear from you again Linda.

WoW, linda.They are very pretty,and in January, too.Hard to believe any one would have a bloom in january.Some of mine starts in april or may.Thank you for sharing it with us.Nothing here but clouds every day and rain almost every day.I am sick of the whole mess.

Thanks for the comments Drontti, and yes I use some supplemental light, but not florescent tubes or the like. The pair of table lamps in the Sunroom have the "Reveal" bulbs in them vs. the ordinary soft white variety. The Reveals give off the right mixture of blue and red light and in the evenings I take the plants off of the windowsills and cluster them around the base of the lamps which are on 'til bedtime. In the morning - back to the windowsills.

Hey Ragdollblue , You will never see 'Arnold Promise' flower in Jan. , it is more late season . Before this last cold snap , they were just beginning to unfurl . For Jan. may I suggest 'Jelena' ( Ya-lena )or 'Pallida' . The above are intermedias which are hybrids of Chinese and Japanese varieties . Feb. cultivars that are nice are 'Aphrodite', 'Aurora' , 'Diane' , and anything orange . Our native vernalis is getting better with purple and red flowers . Some virginiana cultivars are floating around , even dwarfs . By the way Ham. ver. 'Blue Moon' does not have blue flowers . At least the two I have don't . What a cool genus . Some propagators are using Parrotia as understock to do away with the suckers .

EH- that is very nice bloom on your sans. I didn't know they bloom until about 1.5 ago when someone posted photo here. Crenda- another of your beautiful plants. How great it is to be able to have them outside year-round. dm- your jade has nice red coloring on the leaves, and the flowers are bonus. Just like your aloe (hope it will get ID-ed), your plants have a great GH to winter over. What is the plant left of it? Do you have other succulents? David- tell us...how they taste... Rina

Well, what a nice surprise! Very pretty blooms, little or not. We are in the 70s, but expected to drop 30 degrees today and tonight.

So nice to see blooms in January. It's warm here today, but sure don't have any daylilies blooming and it's supposed to snow on Wednesday. Thanks for sharing yours.
