Timing gold pushing conifers

This year I am going to monitor and time the transformation of some of the more bold, golden-pushing conifers. Most start with gold buds and or golden new growth before turning a golden-green or even strong-green by some time in Summer. Since my climate here is very mild, Spring and Summer come slow - often we don't see regular temps in the 70s here until July - so accordingly the plants may take longer to lose their coloration. Either way, they are worth taking photo's of.

So here goes, I'll post new conifers pushing as they 'arrive' this Spring as well as a date-log of when the photo's were taken with updates once a month or so.

Picea glauca 'Daisy White' - Photo April 4th:

Picea pungens 'Gebelle's Golden Spring' April 20th: To me, this is one of THE best conifers for Spring color.

Lots more to come.
