I am organizing a Dahlia Round Robin for April (or earlier if the weather is warmer)!!

I would love more to join. As of today I have 4 of us.

Thanks Everyone for participating. It's the same story for box #2, nothing made it (all the leaves turned totally brown, even a good-sized plantlet with several leaves couldn't handle the heat)! It's no one's fault, the heat is too much and baked all the leaves in the box. This has been really disappointing! Let's do this again when the weather cools off. Hugs, Deb

ok sent out mellens and earthys questionares to everyone. Mailed them in two different ways - forwarded and in the big word document. Only received an error message for veeje on 2 so far. Now everyone should have everyone's questionares. All books should be mailed out by now. Moving on to March - Feel free to pick your partner baised on things you have that you think they would want baised on the questionares. PLEASE POST who you want as there have been so many problems with emails. I will be making a new thread soon as this one is filling up. I will name it MARCH collectors Corner please post there and I will go and add each person who listed on this thread to that thread when I get the extra time (not today though)... Melinda as for your quest5ion. And by collections do you go by the question of things they collect on the questionnaire or the type of flowers they collect or what? MY REPLY: I don't know how you can send flowers with it being so cold, but if you want you can send an IOU or something like that for the spring. Otherwise - try to go off what they have on their questioinares or even on their gardenweb pages. Just do the best you can. However I know that some people don't have much listed on their questionares so I don't know what to do about that. Glad everyone is enjoying your books!

(I am thinking the USPS small flat rate postage box is the best way to send these to me and back to you) Is that the Priority Mail Small Flat Rate Box that is $5.20 and measures 8-5/8" x 5-3/8" x 1-5/8"? You can enclose either cash, a postage meter strip or stamps for the trip back home to you. I'm pretty sure that packages shipped with postage meter strips can only be shipped from the post office where the strips were purchased. hth. I received my seeds from Dean today. He wrote up beautiful descriptions of all the seeds. I'm having a great trip around the world. He also sent me some great recipes. Here's the recipes: Bavarian Potato Salad (German) Suya Kabobs (Nigerian) Iranian Chicken in Tomato Sauce Pepino Aqua Fresca (Mexico) - a refreshing summer drink made with cucumbers. It's 93 degrees today - the hottest day of the year. This sounds good! Pina Aqua Fresca (Mexico) - MMMmmmmm Pineapple drink! Chimichurri Sauce (Argentina) I haven't eaten dinner yet. I can't tell you how good all of these sound! Hi YaÃ¯Â¿Â½ll!

We have enough people to do a round robin (and hopefully will get more!)

Here are the details:

Please send me your list of tubers and the qty you are trading by March 1st.
It is really important that you do not drop out after I have the lists, fellow members will be counting on your wonderful offers!

I will compile a list of what is available and send it back out to all of you. Please let me know your top 4 tubers you would like the MOST and I will try MY BEST to accommodate those requests. You can add more than 4, like colors and types you prefer but I cannot promise anything.

I will ask you send me your tubers by March 15th so I can divvy them up and get them sent back out to you by the 20th. (If you send me 10, you will get at least 10 back!) If the weather is wicked cold during that time, I will push back this date and keep you all in the loop.

You will need to send enough postage to send your original box back to you (I am thinking the USPS small flat rate postage box is the best way to send these to me and back to you). You can enclose either cash, a postage meter strip or stamps for the trip back home to you.

If you have any questions please PM me or post me (thread specified below), I want this to be fun and exciting. This is an awesome way to grow our collections and meet fellow dahlia lovers.
