to save water, which front-load washing machine?

With the drought not getting better any time soon, we've been going to extra measures to save water from showers, the kitchen, etc. to keep some new trees alive. The screening was required by our ARB when we added our pool and deck this summer (I wouldn't ordinarily plant 8 ft trees in a drought).

Our old top load washer is so inefficient and we've been talking about replacing it for months. It seems like the price of a washer is now less than replacing those trees....so, we're looking at no more than $700. Since there are only two of us we don't need the high-end heavy-duty family size washers. We're going to keep the old dryer for now. I've gotten some feed back from others on the Sears HE 2 and the LG equivalent. Anyone here have any experience with these?

Thanks,

Cameron
