Nothing on my Christmas Cacti yet!
One of my CC's, my bonsai, was horribly beaten up during the last rainstorm.
It was also ejected from its pot and lost several arms. But I think it'll pull through.

Nice Easter and Thanksgiving cacti! I'd love to see pics of your variegated Thanksgiving cactus.
Also, do you have pics of your Christmas Cactus?

Mike,
this is the cutting that was knocked from its pot...I'll re-pot it very soon.
I started this from a woody cutting, as an experiment to see if I could get an older
section of Christmas Cactus to root. I've continually pruned this one back.

Hey Josh!

Here are a couple of CC that you of all people will be very familiar with. What do you think? One exploded from cuttings since the early spring, and the other has stayed small due to a much smaller container. I love them both. I am just waiting for these to bud up now.

The ones above are suppose to flower a very nice yellow. I hope they due considering I deliberately left it in very warm temps to encourage that and not a pinkish color or peach color.

Thanks again buddy. I treasure these:-) It was 86 today for an all time record this time of the year! The trees are delayed by 2 weeks in the color dept. and still green around these parts.

Hey Mike, I'm in zone 5 too, but in WI. We are having the same weather as you and my TC is budding as well! I had originally bought 4 small ones, each with a different bloom color and combined them in the same pot. I lost several branches, so it will be interesting to see which colors survived!

Mine are not budding up yet. They are late. Usually they are budding by now.

I have one that have dark red leaves and I had it in the full shade. It held the red leaves all winter. Maybe I have a sport.

I've got some white ones about to pop, as well as a purple-red one that's not far behind. Nice to have a little colour at this time of year, the nights are really sweeping in now.

Yours is further along than mine, Mike, but yes mine is budding out already. I suspect the two weeks of chilly rainy days we had triggered budding.

Hi Norma. I guess someone kind translated for you. By the way, Mom says to keep your feet warm. Norma, I am not sure if you owe me, but thank you for asking. My Mom says you owe nothing, just for you to keep your feet warm in the slippers she made you for the plants you sent her.

boy I had to go way back to find this thread....
I was waiting for my tc flowers to open to post a picture...so here are a couple of pics of my plants today...red, pink, yellow, and white not open yet, the other little plant is purple no buds yet...

Well, mine finally bloomed and it looks like white is the survivor!

To remind everyone, I started out with 4 small plants: red, peach, pink and white. After the original blooms faded, I quickly lost branch upon branch until I ended up with this:

I decided just to group what was left into one planter and take my chances. The longest branches are the same plant and 3 bloomed white. One short branch is struggling to put on additional segments and one has a little bud just starting on it:

Hopefully this will bloom another color. If not, I'll just pick some more up at work once they come in. I'm hoping for a yellow this year. Last year, only 2 yellows came in and 2 coworkers bought them before I knew any better!

I don't try to do anything special with my TC's and CC's, but keep them in bright light indoors year round. My TC's bloom each year between Halloween and Thanksgiving, and the CC's start at Thanksgiving and bloom through Christmas. So they are earlier than the name suggests. The one CC and the larger TC's usually give a lesser, repeat bloom in the spring. I've always wondered if it might make a difference which latitude they were kept at. It changes the day length I think. There is a much bigger swing in day length between summer and winter in the north, and maybe that sweet spot day length is achieved sooner in the north.

Just a run-of-the-mill NOID, Pug. In reality the color is actually more peachy orange rather than the pinkish red it appears here.
