My dearest dearest friends and GW buddies.

It is Christmas for me today. The first part. Because I can celebrate 2 times....are you jeleous yet? lol.

Amelia Happy Birthday. How special to have a Birthday the same day Jesus was born!

It has been the BEST Christmas for me in many many years because I have found so many loving and caring people in this forum.

First and best Christmas was last year. It was after 7 years of not having your children in your life and having them back in it....THE BEST Christmas ever!

I thought that is it. Nothing can come after that to make my heart filled with so much joy. Well if you all just feel half as peaceful and joyious as I do this season. Then you are feeling pretty darn good.

God bless you all!

And may he watch over you and let you see the light and hope that things can and will change for the better. You just have to have faith.

Trust me, sometimes it takes a LONG time and you think there is no end to whatever makes your life and heart heavy.

Thanks Susie :D This cheers me up,too! Hey Kirk, that's what the tree looked like when I was growing up. We planted hundreds and hundreds with our mother it seemed like,even staying out in the woods til well past dark with all sorts of wild animals jumping around at us out there,(back then it was moonshiners you ran into on your property, now it's meth labs) and it was scary when you're only about 6 or 7 years old! I never inherited my mother's ability or want, to wander alone in the woods til wee hours of the morning. After I was married and lived here, we still cut down our own trees, until trespassers stole all of them(to sell, I guess)one year. Some grew back up from the trunks, but we didn't feel like fooling with them any more after that. The smell is great, there's no comparison to a live tree, but we broke down and got an ARTIFICIAL pre-lit one :D lol Too many allergies, they dried out quickly,too. Boy could I tell you some FUNNNNY stories us and the kids endured with live trees ( one year involving a crazy Himalayan cat we had :D ) I can't wait til next Christmas!oh and I see Carol's tree skirt! Ohhhhh Paradigm is nice though isn't it??? I had a Pauls Glory and it died, I'm trying another one this year from a mailorder and it looks nice. BUT I noticed its a zone 4 plant....so maybe that's why this one did not survive for me last time??? I guess time will tell. I thought all hostas ranged from zones 2-3 all the way to 9???? Am I wrong???

Thought I had started my above response with today's find, but see I didn't. It must have been on my other board. Today I went to a town about 20 minutes away with my sister. She was looking for a pair of winter boots that she had seen there. We stopped in a Walgreens to look. We don't have a Walgreens, but one is being built a few miles away in our sister city. Anyway today I found two 6 foot lighted trees in urns for $10 each at Walgreens. They were originally $39.99! I was really excited. They had three more and I really wish that I would have bought at least one more. The two I got are for the outside of the house in the front. We will be screening our covered back porch in soon and I should have gotten one for out there and I think that I might like the look of one in my entry. The size would be good for it. Oh well, at least I got the two.

I would classify myself as an updated traditionalist. I enjoy searching and collecting special things over time as I can afford them. I appreciate and enjoy my home, friends and family. I donÂt live near my family so it is special when we can be together. I have had my ups and downs in this life as all of us have. I came here to share ideas with like minded, talented people. The photo of my home is a true reflection of my nature which is why I let it speak for myself. I find it more interesting to listen then to speak, because I tend to learn more. I sew, cook, loom weave, paint (mostly my house) and I am working on developing a decent tennis serve!
