How strong is Deodar Cedar?

I have always loved the graceful look of a Deodar Cedar tree, but I have stayed away from buying one because they look so delicate. I live about 50 miles inland from Pensacola,FL so we do get the occassional hurricane, even up here we can get 100 mph winds at times.

I guess I'm just curious how strong the wood of this tree is, and how deep rooted are they? I know even our native trees here like Loblolly and Longleaf Pines get damaged, but would Deodar Cedar at least be able to survive as well as these?
