not an arb ... if they fail here.. try the conifer forum ... and there.. a pic of the whole plant.. might get you a cultivar name .... i cant tell my chams from cypress.. since i dont grow the later ... might even be a cham lawson ... ken ps: and if i could spell chamaecyparis.. i would have ... lol ...

What's crazy is that after being told the OP tree was a sitka and the mariana was an omorika, thus planting both in the wrong places, I found some lovely young Picea omorikas at Loen's wholesale for only $15 each last month. They were stunted but I bought 2. They were B&B with burlap and twine still tight on tiny rootballs then put into black 15 gallon containers. Horrified to pull them out of containers and see that burlap and twine. We unwrapped and untangled everything and planted them and watered a lot and lo and behold both are doing well. Put one in front in raised bed with lots of sun and surrounded by hot pokers and seasonal flowers. Put other raised up in wet spot where everything else has croaked, as experiment. Gets a lot of sun there. It's doing well, don't have a picture of it yet. Here's the new baby Picea omorika in the front bed (sorry, fuzzy pix): Can't believe after all this I ended up with 2 omorikas!

Acer oblongum? A. obtusifolium? There ARE evergreen species of maples in cultivation.

You collected these in Australia? I was thinking of Melia azedarach - which has the common name "white cedar" in Australia - though, the flowers are a light lavender colour more than white, but have a slight perfume.
