I am so excited, I am going to have 5 days off.

I am off for the next 5 days, I am so excited. am going to the coast by myself, so I can do what I want. I will still paint the house, but only 4 hours a day, and will have at least 4 hours to mess around in the yard. I am so happy. Jim, I have your plants, so please come by and get them. I just sent emails to the folks on ebay, letting them know in case I win. Boy, is that wishful thinking, but you never know, and all ends tomorrow. No, I am not bidding on brugmansia cuttings. I am so happy, just go get away, I will try and remember my camera. Barbra,

Barbra, so glad you are getting some time to yourself! Do take pics! If you have a cell phone you can have Ebay Alerts sent to your phone when auction is about to end. I think you can up your bid. Not sure though, maybe someone else can chime in. Enjoy!

Purpleinopp - The flowers do have a pink tint to them, almost a blush. Boothbay - I purchased a pink Thanksgiving Cactus last year and it rebloomed again this year. It surprised me because it was on the kitchen table and did not receive the short daylight hours because the light in the kitchen stays on late at night. However, only part of it bloomed. It was the part that was closest to the window. Next year I will definitely give it the short day treatment to get more blooms. I have heard people who get theirs to bloom twice a year. I did place my true Christmas Cactus in an area where it gets the short daylight hours and it is loaded with buds. I cannot wait until it blooms.

Congratulations on the new tiller. I didn't know they made an electric one. I hope it works perfectly for you. I am still using my old 1976 Merry Tiller, pull start but very easy. They don't build them like it anymore. Three tools I couldn't do without: Riding Mower Merry Tiller Stihl String Trimmer (sorry about using the brand name, but I have had several and it is the best!) Our gardening is so much easier if the have the right tools!

Like Alisande, I only see one about once a year...just passing through. I put out a lot of bird seed. I put black oil sunflower seeds in the feeders in the yard and I get a free mix that is a lot of milo and some sunflower seeds donated to me by Walmart, and I put it out along the driveway for the doves. It is so dry here. Right now I have 5 bird baths in the lower part of my yard, which is only about 1/2 acre big, but ran the horse water troughs over yesterday, and couldn't believe all the doves down there bathing. I guess I'm fortunate. I see sparrows in town, but out here in the country, we don't have them. Bluebirds can be seen in this area...supposedly, but the only time I ever saw them, was a pair in the yard of the old man that I look after a couple of towns over, and he couldn't have cared less. That was a few years ago. Now he has a pair of hawks nesting in a tree right out his door, and I can't even get him to walk to the door to look out at them.

Enjoy every minute of your time off! The most important thing is your camera on this trip! You would not want us to go without, would you now? lol

We will miss you but also know that you are doing GREAT!!

Barbra, have a wonderful time by yourself! Enjoy every minute especially since you can paint 4 hours a day, or not, but instead garden more, lol! Hope you win whatever you are bidding on.

How wonderful. I hope you enjoy your time off. Definitely try to squeeze in some gardening. ha ha.

Good luck on your ebay bidding. I am SO thankful it is too cold to ship here right now. Money is tight, but that never seems to stop me from purchasing...just one more plant....I promise, just one!!! ha ha.

Well, I am still here, I spent the day at the doctors offices, and hospital with my son. I did not get home until 6pm, and I was too tried to drive to the coast. I am so glad I was off so that I could be there for my son. I have my car packed and ready to go, I am leaving as soon as I wake up. I have left instructions with my hubby to do a porch check every day when he gets home. He has been given instructions, and he knows what to do in case Santa comes. Barbra,
