What a great pic. Afghans are such beautiful dogs. Their look has always made me think of the sterotypical "dumb blond". I don't mean it in a mean way but they remind me of a beautiful vacuous woman. lol

That's what the flower is. It's in the aster family. We sell loads of it during the growing season and occasionally some manages to winter over in the GH. Did you start yours from seed? I've never tried that. We buy plugs and finish them off.

Karyn, I start them from seed, outside in containers. They are easy...*knock on wood* my luck I'll jinx myself and none will sprout for me in the spring, lol.

Okay, Okay....remember you are talking about my girl here!!! LOL!!! I do know what you mean though. I had an afghan that was what I would call empty headed. She was drop dead gorgeous but that doesn't do it for me. I try to get the A-typical afghan...one that is not so aloof. Brindei in the picture is VERY smart and outgoing! My other two (blondes) are very stubborn. They all are very comical! Some people don't realize afghans are called "closet clowns". They are also like cats in that they will do what they want when they want. They don't try to please you.
I guess I better save some seeds off of these gazania's. I bought them as plants and didn't realize they were not perennials.
Karyn, do they come in many colors? Seems like they only used to be yellows? I love these pinkish colors!

That is priceless! Your dogs are so well behaved and photogenic! My dogs would never hold still or let me dress them up. I tried to put a sweater on the pom but the big lab went and grabbed it a started playing tug-o-war and ripped a big hole in it right away lol.

LOL!!! I am still laughing and will continue to everytime I picture your lab grabbing the sweater off the pom!!! Labs are so lovable and very exuberant!!! Thanks for the laugh! I am still giggling!!!

aww, what a pretty flower ! There is nothing better then a dog ! I love the gazanias too, so easy, and always in bloom..mine are still trying to bloom..Karyn thanks for saying they might make it in the GH, I think Ill give it a try !

That pic is so amazing! It looks like a composite of two pics. How on earth did you get her situated so perfectly, framed by the four flowers? I see this pic framed, on the wall. The flowers are beautiful, as well. I've never even heard of them. I have been introduced to so many plants and flowers on this forum. I spend a lot of time on google, looking them all up!

Joyce, your doggies are sooo cute!

They are so pretty. My Mom would go crazy. She's always wanted an Afghan and a Russian Wolfhound. I didn't mean that they were stupid, just their look reminds me a a ditzy blond woman. The gazanias come in yellow, white, orange, pink and purple and all shades in between but they are all somewhat muted colors. Nothing vibrant but someone will probably breed that in the near future.

Jocye your beautiful babies have one thing in common with my granddaughter. They all love to pose for the camera lol. It IS amazing however that you get your *dogs* to do this. The halloween picture of them holding the pumkins will probably stay with me 4FR lol

I use to have a chicken that would wear this little decorated straw hat.. I wish I still had the pic or the chicken...lol

LOL about SJN's brugs. I remember that pic. I've never tried to dress my dog but do put big red/white and blue bows on her for our neighborhood 4th of July parade.The other thing I do is polish her nails, red, hot pink, etc. It drives DH crazy. He thinks it's degrading because she's a shepard doberman mix, not a pocket pet. I think it's cute and she seems to enjoy it, especially the attention she gets because of it.

I just bought the newest (dump dog ..it involes a bird dog..I'll tell ya later) a necklace.. YES we will keep her.. if she would stand still I bet I could dress her in anything and she would be happy.. lmao.. I may try later..
