My SS might be a couple days late

Last week it was Kyle and me. This week it's Madi and me. She has Scarlet Fever and I have Strep. I'm hoping that I'll be able to get the box out this week but if I can't it will definitely go the beginning of next week. I don't want to leave Madi home alone even just to run to the post office and DH is so busy this time of year that it's closed by the time he gets home. Besides that I'm feeling pretty lousy as well. Sorry about this.

Karyn the important thing here is, that you and Madi get well first. I am sure that your SS buddy will figure it out if he she is the last one to get it. hahaha but you know I have mine not shipped out yet either. I refuse to until it is complete! See, there is a higher power we just have no control over!
I hope you have someone around who can take care of you 2!!!

Cindy: When your SAUCERFUL OF SECRETS blooms, do post a pic. I've got that one too from Curt but it is not a star performer here yet. Debra: This many blooms this late has to be due to the amount of rain we got over the past month. I don't recall this much showing at this late date. Mantis: yes, earlier pics of GEECHEE were better but just shows how much a late opening with cool temps can do to a daylily. Celeste: I've admired your pics of COUSIN SUZANNE. The race is definitely on here too! Linda and Kay: I'm so thankful to get these blooms this late in the season. I'm always on the scape hunt because I just never know what will show itself. KIOWA SUNSET has always been a favorite of mine. It is registered as a EE but here, it doesn't start blooming till early July and the scapes are taller than 23" as registered. I still have my feeders up but my last visitor so far was Oct 6. I am in western Fairfax County, VA. I've maintained 2 feeders since early April. I figure I had at least 6 resident hummers by Jul. maybe more. I normally fill only 2 inches of nectar in the feeders and change every other day. They regularly emptied 1/4 inch daily. The last week of August they emptied my feeders every day! By the first week of September I only saw females and or juveniles. I haven't seen one male since late August. By the end of September I was getting regular visits but knew they were travelers and my resident hummers had left. My resident hummers had favorite places to perch and recognizable approach patterns when coming to the feeders. The travelers approached from different directions and searched around clearly not immediately knowing where the feeders were. They at first would be interested in the orange flowers on my deck furniture or the flowers on my granddaughters bicycle seat before finally finding the feeders. The activity was still high through Sept but by the last week of Sept and the first week of Oct we've only spotted one daily. I'm going to maintain my feeders until freezing becomes a problem. Hummingbird watching has been a Blast!

Hi! How is everybody doing? I am waiting to hear more about Zig's meet up with Maddie. Inquiring minds, you know.... Raeanne, have you been kayaking yet? My DS turns 18 at the end of August and I do believe that I'll buy myself a kayak. Kind of a thank you present TO MYSELF!!! for having raised 2 decent kids lol! DeeMarie, how is the knee holding up? Swimming sounds like an excellent idea. NH Suzanne, I am sure that you did not deserve to have your butt kicked. The visual on that has me ROFL! This has been a very good week for me all the way around. The weather is very warm (too warm!) but the days are just beautiful with clear blue skies and a light breeze. I am not an expert but I have a June bearing type that is also hit and miss but also sends out way to many runners. I had some Fort Laramie, everbearing, that have been much better but this winter were killed in my raised bed and the grass took over what was in the ground. I could have dug them up and washed the roots off before putting them in the raised bed but never got around to it. The voles were doing a number on everything in the ground.

Being sick suxs, I hope you and your daughter feel better soon. If I'm your SS I will totally understand if the package is late. I haven't got mine out yet either.

Scarlet fever!!! OMG!!! Hope you all get better & fast. Whoever has your name should include big bottles of vitamins for both you & the kids.

I haven't sent mine out yet either. It's been in the 20s & windy. I'm hoping it will warm up enough here in a couple days. At least my box is heading for a warmer place. I'm thinking of using a really big box & delivering it in person. Maybe my SS person will take pity & let me stay the winter. LOL

Karyn I'm so sorry you and the kids are sick. I have had a lot going on and computer problems (Lucy the puppy ate my cord and shorted out the battery) so have only been able to get on for a minute every so often. Please take care of yourself and I am sure the secret santa person will not mind if its late. I know I wouldn't if its me. Hope you all get well soon.

I haven't been on in a couple days and except for now probably won't be. I'm really sick and in the hospital with breathing difficulties. Things aren't going that well. I'll get the SS out whenever I'm able. I have no idea when I'll be discharged, been here since late Tues, I think. Anything else will not be going I'm not sure if I even have anything that's supposd to go besides the SS. Sorry but I can't deal with it.

Oh Karyn, The only thing that should be on your mind is getting lots of rest and thinking healing thoughts. I hope you can get this under control soon and be back to your regular self. Your husband might have to make the Thanksgiving dinner this year. I sure miss you on the list and am sending big hugs and healing thoughts your way!

Karyn I hope soon you can come back daily again! Just recently we talked about not missing a day here. No you are forced to stay away because you even landed in the hospital.

All I can think of when you say breathing difficulties is when my boy had breathing issues and I had to put him on Prednisone (steroids) I think he's already ADHD, but that stuff was like liquid crack!He was running all over the house out of control . Even the dogs were hiding from him.
Anyways get better. Hope I made you laugh!

No, I haven't either and I am worried as well. I sure hope you are ok Karyn. I am praying for you. Please don't worry about the package. Whoever you are sending it to will be happy to wait until you feel better. You have to get well so I can show you the little clippings you sent me a while back that are blooming. They are so cool. I had no idea they would bloom so fast. The ones that look like parrot beaks make me smile every time I go in the kitchen. Hugs and love to you We all miss you.
