Neighbors watering my plants without permission
Comments (8)I feel your pain!!! Have been going through a similar situation with a neighbor (for 17 yrs now!). They, too, do things under the guise of "helping" me. I put drought tolerant plants in our front yard, that butts up to the property line between us. They had automatic sprinklers & would flood the area regularly-which would over-spray into our yard. I used to ask nicely, could you adjust your sprinklers, attempting to be a "good" neighbor. His response was "you don't want FREE water"? NO...I don't! There were a variety of offenses...them not understanding boundaries & personal property issues. They cut plants, moved boundary rocks, pulled out plants, etc. When I caught them doing it, they claimed they were just "helping" me. Yikes! What part of "don't touch my plants" don't you understand? I used signs at times. Didn't help. I have no landlord to go to with a complaint. You should...go complain!! Have a face-to-face talk with the neighbor. Unfortunately, my talks with ours fell on deaf ears. They think they can do whatever they want. We are currently in the process of ripping out ALL plants between us, just so we can install a WALL (at great expense to us)...as these folks still don't get it when we ask them not to touch our plants, or things on our property. I wish you luck resolving this issue. I'd say you should enlist the help of your landlord (esp. if you say they have installed a raised bed without permission)....See MoreNursery hopping
Comments (7)Am going to try 3 new cultivars of our native Heuchera villosa; 'Caramel', Citronelle' & 'Mocha', all intros from France & plant breeder Thierry Delabroye. They are named for their foliage color. Found at Pikes in Tucker, were some very choice JM Bonsai's, with the rare cultivar 'Mikawa Yatsubusa' grafted onto very heavy rootstock of ½-1" caliper. I have the tree in my garden, but had to try a bonsai! They said the Alpharetta store would have them in stock tomorrow. Just received 36 new Minature Hostas from Mini Plant Kingdom in CA. Still on my porch, waiting for the wind to subside. Too dangerous to work in a woodland garden. Also, have received some Pink & Red? flowered Kousa Dogwoods that are waiting for the real Spring to arrive. Bought Tomato plants, too. Rb...See MoreExhibition White Hybrid Tea
Comments (16)Cystalline, Virginia, White Success all seem to have potential in my garden. Whisper... not so much. Definitely NOT Home and Family. Kordes released a new HT florist rose named Iceberg (2001). (It drives me crazy that Kordes reuses rose names... but thats a whole other thread) It is new to my garden this year but has produced large pure white blooms on long single stems with good form... I think it has potential but need more time to truely evaluate. It seems it may be slow to establish like Crystalline....See MoreKentucky Goosberries VS. O. Little Pink Moonstone
Comments (13)I would guess that Optimara Little Pink Moonstone is a sport of an Opt. Little Moonstone which has a blue eye, not pink. In this case it is a plant on a right with round scalloped leaves, it is a mini and it grows in a more tight way. Kentucky is a semi-mini and has elongated leaves. The plant is more vigorous and has a loose growth habit. Both plants are excellent, and as any mini or semi - require to be repotted more often. I would prefer to keep true bloomers, not sports if space is of an issue....See Morecactusmcharris, interior BC Z4/5
