Help my sick Jade plant, please!

I'm in need of any advice...

I live in Tucson - hot, hot, hot in the desert.

Bought and re-planted (in a large pot) a nice Jade plant about 2 months ago. I placed it outside in the direct, Arizona sunshine, and watered it when dry (about every 3-4 days it seemed, as we were in the PEAK of our summer 105 degree days).

Within a week, the leaves had dark brown, almost black spots on them. They looked sunburnt! I moved the pot onto the patio, where it now gets semi-direct sunlight and the leaves have continued to brown, shrivel up and fall off. There are new little leaves coming in behind, but the entire plant basically is leafless now.

I pulled up the plant and the roots appear ok... not rotted or anything like that.

Any suggestions? I really thought it was sunburn and too much sun, but still continues to look sick.

My other succulents (non-jade) bought at the same time are thriving in the direct sun, watered the same way, in a hanging basket.

I'd appreciate any help! Thanks!
