Dwarf Key Lime

I want to order a dwarf "key" lime tree that is of good quality and large enought for fruiting. I see a few companies out there. Best prices to size I found were from citrustreesonline. Anyone know if they are trustworthy company? If not, what company would you suggest? Please note I don't want to wait 2 or more years to see it fruit.

I bought a key lime from Martha's on EBAY and the plant is great. Big bushy and covered with blossoms. I will be looking to buy a couple Lemon plants and persian lime this week.

I ordered one from Willis Orchard. We will see what I get. It is already on truck here and should be here Friday. It is bare root, so not sure what that will do to it. Hope it doesnt go into too much shock. Anyone out there ever do one bare rooted? How did it do? The tree is supposed to be 2-3 feet tall (fruiting size per their web). Will post what I get and how it does if anyone else is looking for one also.

I could send meyer lemon and key lime cuttings for you to root - they won't be dwarf because that depends on rootstock, but it'd take many years for them to get huge. Or you could graft them to your flying dragon seedlings, I guess. I don't have any of either rooted at the moment.

ugh...my order now says an estimated delivery time of 5/25 - 6/21. :( I wonder if i'll ever get my dwarf lime tree. If I do get it late June, how the heck is it going to have enough summer & fall time to grow? I'll probably have to keep it indoors for the first year, right? :-\ Dumb Spring Hill.

It doesn't look like anything TOO serious. Some citrus leaf-miner damage I think, so remove leaves with the little mining trails. Some of the misshapen leaves are just damaged through contact damage which is quite common - unsightly but not detrimental. It looks a little under-nourished. I would give it a good watering, then give it a good fertilizer with some added epsom salts and iron. A regular fertilizing schedule will bring it back to health after a while. Slowly introduce it to some good light, and make sure it stays warm enough with good humidity and it will be fine :)

John is right! You can get fruit on cuttings with ease. I make cuttings all the time and will get fruit even on a 4 inch high cutting. In fact, in some cases, I much more prefer cuttings for potted citrus. It will fruit in less time than that if you give it what John suggests. Mike

According to who's website? Where did you get your tree?

I have received 2 trees from Four Winds- both of them arrived bare root- that was three years ago and they are doing just fine. THey are potted and live indoors in the winter.

I used the shavings that the trees came in mixed with bark, turface, and citrus soil mix- this is a very good draining mix. I was very careful with the root system while planting. Then I watered it in with some Superthrive in the water (nothing else)and kept it kind of sheltered for about 2 weeks.

After that first 2 weeks I gave it fertilizer and moved it into brighter light.. I had no transplant shock and no other ill effects.
