Trying to post Pics of my Clematis
Comments (17)Jane...I look forward to seeing pics of your Clematis...If you are a past buyer from Dan's at Brushwood..Log into your account and click on "Omoshiro" and request that you be put on the waiting list for when he has more propagated.I did get mine from him and am on the waiting list for more....don't feel bad all of us "seem to always want the hard to find"..I am just mad about the Japanese varieties and faithfully wait year after year to see if they have come to the American market..I can't tell you how many years my heart has been broken to find they haven't...Jeanne...See MoreClematis up trees? Comments (5)No photos, but BuyorSell had a single loose spiral of copper pipe that went loosely around the trunk. However, she later said about this: "My copper spiral doesn't actually work very well. You need something like metal grid fencing wrapped around the trunk or part of it. or something like this trellis" **see link below** ( from thread here: http://forums.gardenweb.com/forums/load/clematis/msg091028229155.html) The problem with the copper spiral is that it is a bit fatter than clematis can easily wind around, and there is just the single pipe, which makes the plant more crowded, while the plant would rather spread out a bit more. Grid fencing held up by rebar and wrapped in a half-circle near the trunk or a trellis along the lines of the one linked below will be more successful. I also use free-standing obelisks set a few feet away from the tree for the clematis to start to climb, and from the top of those they launch into taller shrubs and smaller trees. Here is a link that might be useful: half-round trellis...See Moresome pics of my winter set-up in my garage
Comments (23)Lycheelova, I have been looking for your 800w mh and I can't find it. Is it comparable too the halides or is it better. I am just wondering because I have supplemental lighting on my christmas list this year and i would like your light. I found the other light on ebay. Do you know the company that manufactures your light? Right now I am just using flourescent shop lights. My mango flowers are falling off now but I have 3 small fruits. My keylime is all budded up but most of the buds are dropping. I think my keylime needs more humidity. Andrew...See MoreWanna see some pics of my little house? (many pics)
Comments (18)Thanks for the many positive comments. Yes, I love my little shed. :) It's 8x12 (tiny) but I think it's just right. We've already had several neighbors ask about it. Ever since I was a kid, I've dreamt of having a little playhouse of my own. This "little mansion" went way over budget but I've assured my husband that when it's time to sell the house, that wee house in back will probably be a major selling point. It even has an attic with a ladder going "upstairs" and operable windows. I like to sit up there and just meditate on life. The deadbolt is an extra-security deadbolt and the little house is connected to the alarm system in our big house. We even had a house-warming party last month to celebrate the completion of our little house!! Here's a picture of the little house my first husband and I built for my two oldest daughter (built from a kit) in the early 1980s. The girls loved it - and so did the neighborhood kids. And now I have one of my own!...See Moremegpie77
