Picea sitchensis Photo Gallery 2011

Picea sitchensis, native to the Pacific Northwest and parts of Alaska. Becomes HUGE in the wild with a specimen locally near the Olympic rainforests that looks like it's about 15 feet wide and 150 feet tall. Feel free to post any cultivars or species photos you'd like.

Picea sitchensis 'Sugarloaf'. What's interesting is my specimens were bought as large, open semi-dwarves. Now in the ground they seem content filling in the openess and not growing much at the terminal ends. This might suggest they were grown in either shade or crowded conditions in the nursery.
