Brugs tucked away in their new room! :)

Last year I had a smaller 9' x 12' room! This year a 14' x 17' room! Did a little 'moving around' this year! Took the den (that's what I called it) & rearranged it to be a plantroom! lol! Windows, lots of sunshine, private entrance, & I did have more room! But it's pretty full now! I do have a walk-way through the mess! :) I have a few more small things I need to do in there, but all-in-all, I love the extra room!

'Naughty Nick' & 'Neon Orange' decided they wanted to reach out & touch the celing! lol!

'Xena' took up alot of space in the center of the room! But, she's my baby!!

'Confusion' is, well, just confused!! rofl! He doesn't know what to think! Blooms are turning orange & then that sickly brown! We had so much rain lately! Glad he's inside now!

I've got quite a few seedpods on various plants! Something I'm going to start another thread about! I NEED to know about seedpods! lol!

Oh my god, you have your very own Brug army! Look at them all in their own little rows. Standing at attention. They look like they are fixing to go march. Nice room. Your Brugs will love the extra space. Good luck on your seed pods.

Hey Mike, It looks like you don't like giving up on the flowers!!!...lol

Is this room for 'to grow' or to 'make cold for dormancy'.
I see the lights but is that in anticipation for starting earlier for spring? Cause that's a heck of a lot of plants to be growing in that room for the next 5-6 months.
Don't forget the moisture in the air if it's for growing.

Oh no noo nooo...Bob is the only one really organized in this thread. That would most certainly not be me!(organized that is) There were a good number of nights I had to hustle everything into the front room because I knew it was going to be too cold on the porch. All the while I could have been cleaning the basement grow area. I always feel unorganized this time of year but in the real world there always has to be a transition period. I'm transitioning... cj I'll take any unwanted paphs you might need to purge, ha ha. Arthur Zone 5ab is a very temperate area. All Indiana farmland with a moderate sized city in the middle. We get very distinct seasonal change. I can keep the nobile & kingianum out on the porch until it's almost freezing than they go downstairs. If I keep them on my lowest shelf or even set them on the floor I think that might be chilly enough for them. I know I don't stop watering totally, I guess I'm just supposed to watch the plant really intently to make sure the canes don't wither? GB

Pam, your garden looks beautiful. So sorry to hear about your dog. Gardening is such good therapy isn't it? That Taro does look like colocasia illustris. I have some I got at a swap too. It really does make a garden look tropical. The leaves burn in direct sun though. It doesn't kill the plant, but even a direct ray that gets through the trees in the afternoon will burn the leaves. Those striped Cannas are pretty, saw them on Monday at Lowe's and I'm thinking of going back. --Shirley

Hi lynne, Are these your first brugs? If so, I would go ahead and repot them all seperately for now. Let them get some size on them and see if they all grow at about the same rates individually before trying to braid them or grow them all in the same pot. Braiding is fun but if these are your first brugs then you will have better results with individual plants while you are learning. If you need any help repotting etc. please feel free to email me at sultry_jasmine_nights@yahoo.com For braiding you would need vigorous straight suckers from the mother plants anyhow, that did not come from above the Y. So if you wait you can get some off your individual plants later to braid. ~SJN

thanks Karyn :) GG, It wasn't funny at first for Duke to be slamming head first into everything, I kept cringing and yelling "Oh!..ooo!..watch out!"..lol I thought for sure he was going to run into something and poke his eye out. But it did get funny as time went on. I was laughing when he went up the back steps, and he was pushing on the wall with his nose, thinking it was the door, lol. That darn wall just wouldnt open for him..yet the door 6" to the left was wide open. I had to grab his head and point his nose where to go. yes, my poor Arbor. First it was the arch that went down from TS Hannah..now this. Was my fuirst year with that arbor..I really liked it. I am hoping that all the garden bad luck has all hit this year, and is over with. Hopefully next year it will be all good. *knock on wood* thank you, but the pumpkins are nothing really. Halloween is my fav holiday..I have only NOT dressed up 1 yr in my life. But sadly, this is the first year I am not decorating. I dont even know where half of them are, and I just havent had the time. Last year my decorations were on the tv on the news, lol. The reporter came to my area for a dif story, but was impressed with the decorations, so he stuck some decoration shots in the story as well after my interview, lol. My gravestones were tied into the story as well. He called them "morbidly funny" in the news segment. I'm rambling now..

Looks good and lots more space. You might consider picking up some of the wooden pallettes that are used to deliver heavy items like tile, etc for home renovation projects. They are great to put the pots on keeping them much warmer by getting them off a cold floor. Even if the room is heated a cement floor can still be really cold. I use them for the plants that I winter over in the garage.

That is a great room. It does look a lot like a brug army all neatly lined up. Lots of beautiful colors there, too.

Wow Mike, what a great place for your brugs! The one thing I am most amazed at, is that you are so neat with your set-up! Mine would most likely be all piled up into a chaotic mess.

Mike the room looks SUPER and your plants are so lucky to have their own room. I have thought about having room for my plants...but have I done anything yet?

NO :-( Not really. I know they say frost is coming and I have a panic attack again lol

Mike that is great. I cannot believe all the Brugs you have.

I moved this year and have not set up my new plant room I have to hurry up we had our first freeze last night I ran outside and did a cover up so the room will be done this week.
