euphorbia trigona, trouble with growing leaves

HI,

I have about 5 or 6 large euphorbia trigona in one large pot that are about 4 to 5 foot tall. When I first got it about 7 years ago, it "blossomed" full of leaves. Then each year it has decreased, until this year I haven't seen any. It was in an unobstructed south window and is now in an unobstructed west window. I used to give it about 3/4 gallon of fertilized water once a month. Then I read they needed more than that, and half been giving it about 1/2 gallon every two weeks. I'm actually at a total loss as to how water to give it. Right now I let it drain freely whereas before it would drain into a pan that I had no way of emptying as the plant and pot are quite heavy. I have also noticed it seems to have burn spots on it.

Does anyone have a clue about this large of a plant, how much and how often to water, if it is getting too much direct sun or not and how I can get it to leaf again?

I am at a total loss.
