CHC vs. Coco Hulls Confusion

Hi all,
I am new to citrus, and I recently bought a Meyer lemon tree. I read the postings on planting citrus with CHC, and although most of the postings talked about using CHC for potted citrus, I thought it would work well for my Meyer in the ground b/c of the heavy clay soil in my area. I got what I thought was CHC from my local Armstrong, washed & rinsed it as described, and planted my tree using a mixture of soil, compost & "CHC." However, I had mistakenly gotten *coco hulls* instead of CHC! I guess the chocolate smell should have tipped me off...
Anyway, have I committed a cardinal citrus sin? Or do you think the coco hulls will be OK? Since citrus seems to be kind of fussy, should I replant it using CHC?
BTW, I also recently planted a bare-root plum tree with only a soil & compost mixture, and it's thriving and putting out a lot of new growth, so maybe the CHC isn't necessary in my area?
Thank you for your input!
