Silver Star Vinery - has anyone used them?

I am considering ordering from them and would like to know what kind of feedback others may have.

I just had a pretty disappointing experience with an order from another online vendor and this time I want recommendations first.

I prefer to buy locally rather than online or by mail order but many of the regulars on this forum have purchased from Silver Star and with excellent results. And you can always get feedback on any mail order source through the vendor rating forums here or Garden Watchdog.

Order from Debbie (at Silver Star) with complete confidence. She is a real treasure for Clematis growers....if only she had some of the ones I really lust over, though. (Barbara Ann's Lace or Hakuree)

Gal sized plants, shipped with soil, but without pots and with full root systems.

WOW! That Rebecca is gorgeous! I noticed all the clematises I planted last year are coming up!(6), one that I bought late in the season, was left in the pot it came in, has no growth,"florida sieboldii", but the vines are still bendable?, so it may not be dead?! I also moved a clematis(was here when I bought the place), and repotted 5 babies for the Horticulture Plant sale, and they seem to be doing good. It is a purple one, I think jackamani, I moved it about 2ft over and it will get more sun now, with huchera hiding its base, and this adorable tiny delicate ivy...I LOVE the stuff! It has tiny white flowers, maybe it reminds me of my childhood favorite, chickweed!lol! (ate the stuff!) I bought a clematis from a guy, a red one but don't know what names are on most I buy(plant sales are so much cheaper) I may have to buy one of those clematis books and start identifying them.

Peacock Pavers-has anyone used them?

@mark1993, can i ask if your professional installer immediately sealed your pavers after install? also, what color did you install? i recently constructed a home and all of my outdoor patios/front porch are Rice White Peacocks. The initial design was going to match my modern construction beautifully except my Builder and his sub contractor did not seal the pavers for over 65 days. Now I am stuck with discolored and stained pavers that even if I clean with a more acidic cleaner (not recommended per Peacock), it actually eats through the paver turning it more of the concrete color, which is what the product is made of. I'm wondering had they been installed/sealed properly from the start, I wouldnt be fighting all of the issues with them I am now. Thank you in advance for your reply.

Blue Star Platinum 36" -- has anyone seen or ordered?

Looking at the raised grill in the center of the Platinum 36, I'm wondering if one of the biggest advantages of my standard Bluestar range top - removing the grate and dropping the 16" wok perfectly inside, still works out? It looks like the removable grill, a feature I would consider upgrading for, might get in the way of a wok or even a wide fry pan. Looking forward to hands-on reviews. I have not needed to order from her but I've seen her Clems at a local sale and never once have read a bad word about her anywhere online.

Couldn't recommend Silver Star more highly. Most of my clematis come from Debbie and she offers exceptional plants along with superb top line service.

Except for my Hakuree :)...which came from Joy Creek.

Debbie is a pleasure to purchase from. She is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and ready to answer any questions you may have. Her plants are amazing. I ordered two from her this past fall and they were beautiful healthy masses of roots.

She is the best for mail order clematis! Here in San Diego, we don't get a huge choice of clematis in our local nurseries. Debbie is who I have gone to for the harder to find varieties. I recommended her to two friends here that were thrilled with their purchases.

Are you kidding me? I wouldn't buy a clem anywhere except from Debbie. I have clems in the ground for 5 years that aren't doing as well as the ones I receive from her in their FIRST year! Her clems are amazing - the root system is HUGE and I just won't waste my money on clems from any other source.

On a scale of 1 to 10, orders from Silver Star are an 11! Order with complete confidence.
