Silver Star Vinery - has anyone used them?

I am considering ordering from them and would like to know what kind of feedback others may have.

I just had a pretty disappointing experience with an order from another online vendor and this time I want recommendations first.

I prefer to buy locally rather than online or by mail order but many of the regulars on this forum have purchased from Silver Star and with excellent results. And you can always get feedback on any mail order source through the vendor rating forums here or Garden Watchdog.

Order from Debbie (at Silver Star) with complete confidence. She is a real treasure for Clematis growers....if only she had some of the ones I really lust over, though. (Barbara Ann's Lace or Hakuree)

Gal sized plants, shipped with soil, but without pots and with full root systems.

This spring ordering more Clematis From Silver Star Vinery

All my new clematises from last year look okay...except the one I bought at a florist/garden center...also bought a yellow jasmine from them and it did nothing either. When I went back and mentioned that the "Radar Love"(Gotta LOVE that name...oh ya, Golden Earring!)wilted and died, she said ya, someone else said that too...then did not bother to speak of a refund or anything...and now the jasmine has not come back...well, it is still early so I better stop right here....but I sure love clematises!!! Bought 7 last yr and i jasmine, 1 virginia creeper, and 3 honeysuckles!!! So I am with ya, Rita, on the not adding much this year...have been looking at a site (15 minute drive away!)that has some certified organic fish compost that I wanna try...even tho it is $75/yard. I do want to get a climbing rose called "joeseph's Coat"! Noticed I have some peonies that didn't do much last year...are poking their heads up!! WhooHoo! Forgot what color they are so they will be a suprise(either pink or red)

Blue Star Platinum 36" -- has anyone seen or ordered?

Looking at the raised grill in the center of the Platinum 36, I'm wondering if one of the biggest advantages of my standard Bluestar range top - removing the grate and dropping the 16" wok perfectly inside, still works out? It looks like the removable grill, a feature I would consider upgrading for, might get in the way of a wok or even a wide fry pan. Looking forward to hands-on reviews. Lake Girl, BM Gray Wisp is the 'official' equivalent to Silver Sage. Quiet Moments is a few shades lighter on the same color card, so you already get SS lite, so to speak. Since that was still too dark for me, I then had the Quiet Moments mixed at half strength. The only pictures I have are not very good, but here are several views of my walls. First up, my foyer ceiling--you can see the walls with white contrast trim in this shot; the ceiling is a VERY custom mix of QM light light light done by the wizard at my local paint store. I have not needed to order from her but I've seen her Clems at a local sale and never once have read a bad word about her anywhere online.

Couldn't recommend Silver Star more highly. Most of my clematis come from Debbie and she offers exceptional plants along with superb top line service.

Except for my Hakuree :)...which came from Joy Creek.

Debbie is a pleasure to purchase from. She is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and ready to answer any questions you may have. Her plants are amazing. I ordered two from her this past fall and they were beautiful healthy masses of roots.

She is the best for mail order clematis! Here in San Diego, we don't get a huge choice of clematis in our local nurseries. Debbie is who I have gone to for the harder to find varieties. I recommended her to two friends here that were thrilled with their purchases.

Are you kidding me? I wouldn't buy a clem anywhere except from Debbie. I have clems in the ground for 5 years that aren't doing as well as the ones I receive from her in their FIRST year! Her clems are amazing - the root system is HUGE and I just won't waste my money on clems from any other source.

On a scale of 1 to 10, orders from Silver Star are an 11! Order with complete confidence.
