For the past several years I've had beautiful (to me) crops of white clover appear in different areas of my yard both front and back. Next to my roses by the porch, it reminds me of an English Cottage in a way. Also have a tiny patch of Spring Beauties down front that I carefully mow around every year. I don't mind dandelions but I do mow them off. There used to be some Indian Paint Brush down in the yard too but I haven't seen them for a couple years. My neighbor has a lawn company come to spray her small lawn. She doesn't want any "intruders" in her grass. I know she gets upset with me esp. about the dandelions.

Personally, if I don't know where somewhere is I look it up, rather than proudly broadcasting my geographical failings. If one never sees these place names how is one going to learn? Same with anything I read here and don't follow. It's more educational for me and I can Google faster than I can type out a question which requires someone else to put in the effort to answer. btw - don't you get Poldark in the US? Also a lot of Cornish miners went to California in the Gold Rush. I'm pretty sure people living near the Empire Mine, Grass Valley know where Cornwall is. They still serve pasties there. There are people with Cornish ancestry all over the US.

What better way to kick off Earth Day than with beautiful photos of our planet and a plant sale at our Botanical Garden. That’s where I have been most of today and previous days getting ready.

yes, good for bees and also rabbits like dandelion greens, so they are more likely to leave your real garden alone :-)
