Hi! I'm new to the group so forgive me if my reply is out of place or I am responding to a thread that has been given up. I recently got interested in figs and decided to try a method some fig growers use on lemon cuttings. The technique is on figs4fun.com to give credit where it is due. For my samples I placed ~4 cuttings/bag in sandwich size zip lock bag with 3-6 ml distilled water and either a piece of rolled paper towel or cotton swab. I tested several other compounds like Rootone but the results were best with water. I still have to check if the chlorine and flourine present in tap water have an effect relative to distilled water. Total time was ~6 weeks before they were transplanted to potting soil. The roots were still only 1-4 mm in length but the new shoots were 40-53 mm and in some cases longer then the cutting that produced them. Anyway, lowest cost and least labor intensive method I have seen to date. Just stick the cuttings in a baggy with a couple of teaspoons of water and half a paper towel then walk away for a 6 weeks. Citrus Leafminer. It's not a fungus, it is the larvae of the CLM moth, mining through the leaf. Don't cut off the leaves, your tree needs them to respirate. If you feel compelled to treat, the best and safest treatment is a combination of Spinosad and Neem or Volk Oil (to help it stick better, and to smother the adult moths). Be sure to spray in the evening, when the bees have gone back in the hive, and if possible, to spray before blossoms appear. You can spray every 3 weeks for 3 apps. You may need to do a series of sprayings again, in the late summer/early fall, when they tend to come back in your area. Here for us in Calif., we only tend to see them in the summer, so I try to start spraying in July. Last caveat - don't use the hort oils if your temps are above 85 degrees, as you'll fry your leaves. Thanks so much! I happen to be a little late on fertilizing. I will do that tonight. Tell me, what is a light fungicide treatment? I never had to use one before, could you recommend something? Is the increase of bugs due to the fungus? Or is it just my imagination

Oh my goodness I saw seed packets online for those California poppies! I wanted to purchase them so bad since they were one of the few offered that didn't have a dark center. A botanical garden near me grows that type (I think) and I wanted them the first time I laid eyes on those beautiful petals. I was about to splurge on flower seeds last weekend, especially on that poppy variety, but my boyfriend did a good job helping me hold back my impulses. I'm still trying to narrow down all the seeds I put in my cart Thank you for showing us what they look like! It confirms the variety I've been looking for. And the way you grew them looks amazing! They look like 2 separate herb bushes that somehow grew huge flowers
