I didn't see any cuttings on Country Garden. And alot of their stock is sold out. That's probably because I waited too late in the season.

Cuttings were my first aim rather than plants inside. Then I decided to try to bid on some small plants. . .couldn't get a handle on some the cuttings.

Seed Sprout has a Herrenhauser Garten - should just ORDER that one. . . . .be done with it.

Just thought it would be easier with cuttings rather than plants - didn't realize trying find and/or bid on cuttings would be a problem also. (grin) Sheesh. . .

Cuttings should be plentiful as cold weather moves in. You might save allot of money by posting your wants and haves on the exchange side of the forum. There are always some very generous traders come fall. No one wants to cut on them while they are in active growth (usually) Seedsprout and Country Gardens are excellent choices if you go that route! Thank you Georgia, btw - my bubbler is in my kitchen and seems to be ok (testing it) - but now I know why you said to glue the bubble rods down.

Guys - Georgia - Karen - I don't have anything that anyone wants. . .that's the point. I want to share . . . .I'd like to give back to the forum. . .

I wanted stuff - yes, for me - but the volume I'm bidding on - pffft. . .I want to share with OTHERS. . I want to give back. . . . .all the cool ones, named, to trade, swap, flat out give away!

That's why I was chasing those cuttings. . .to give back to everyone here that have given so much time and help to me. . .that's why I'm chasing the "funky" ones.

Soooooooo. . I'm only winning on 15 things. . .keep losing on the other 6. Grrrrrr. . .that's getting on my nerves.

I'm going to go to seed sprout and see what they've got and just outright buy, that way, I know what I'll have to share.

But, I'm thoroughly annoyed at losing out on the Rahabana. .I wanted that one really bad, so, let's just go. . .ohhhhhh. . .sayyyyyyyyy. . . 20.00. . . .if someone wants it bad. ..I'll lose to them, but big.

Hurricane took my moisture away. Booo. Techno I wanted all the cool ones last year. Such pretty colors, then I wanted certain varieties for their characteristics, Then I wanted only super hardy brugs.

It is my opinion that truly stellar brugs are given or acquired through friendship or being a preferred customer. I know that in all my breeding activities over the years this has proved to be true. So make your wants know, send postage ahead of time. When they have decided to cut them they will have a bunch to share and you would like some of the 1st cuts !!!! My last ones that I bought from the same vendor proved to be stellar performers. Luck ?

I know a certain enthusiast here would like some "named" ones. . .I'll send him some. He said he wanted them to trade. And there are other people also.

Some of these, I'd bet my mutts outperform. And my mutts like me and I like them. (grin) They're pretty terrific.

But basically, it was so I could give to other people. That's all.

You're breeding them?!?!? Jeez. . .that's out of MY league Jim. (grin) I'd never attempt stuff like that.

Good luck Dweeb. I know all about getting caught up in the ebay auctions....A couple of years ago, there were some that I just HAD TO HAVE. I was determined that they were going to be mine and since the seller stated that they had only a "limited supply", I knew I had to win those auctions. Got in there at the last minute and sniped and I was so proud of myself. I should've stayed off ebay after that but continued looking around there the next week and guess what. No bids on the same cuttings the very next week!! I could have gotten them all for about 1/8th of what I paid for them if I'd just waited. Live and learn I guess...Just thought I'd share that so maybe you won't feel too bad about getting outbid!!

When I have all the extra brug cuttings I'm not looking for anything except postage. I have too many as it is and really don't have room for many more. I have a number of named brugs and many NOIDs that are from seed crosses of my own plants as well as plants that my youngest pulled the labels from. Of course there's some varieties that I'd love, Daydreams, New Orleans Lady, etc but they will have to wait until the prices come down. Brug prices usually fall quickly because they are so easy to propagate and bloom quickly, unlike plumerias and others.

But there is one. . it's a cross. . and it's something the forum was eyeballing. . .it's yellow down to a deep pink - almost red. It's a Magic Mountain cross. Now THAT one, I'd love eto lay my hands on. . .but if I can't, I can't.

I'm not chasing those double or triple oranges. . keep getting the "you were outbid" email. . .FINE. (grin)

OOOooo ebay.... I have bought plenty...LOL wondering what the Hell was I thinking the next morning.. and I have sold plenty waking up the next morning.. going ALRIGHT!!!There will be lots right here.. Of course there are the ones to dream of NO Lady~Earth Angle my 2 wants.. The price has come down some but I have to many as it is.. maybe dead of winter while I pout in my jammies~slippers~and chug a frosty beverage and sit in front of this crazy box and dream of spring... Meanwhile every cutting will need a home..LOL Having to compost them is terrible... so save your money and make some deals.. You will be much better off...unless of course you have my 2 wants... then call me..LOL

I don't cross with any know how. I just cross pollinate whatever happens to be blooming at the same time. I usually end up with single whites but I have had a couple keepers.

PS: One of my passiflora crosses bloomed for the first time today. A really pretty bloom. I know that's OT but I'm excited. lol

I do love ebay. You can buy anything there. It is also very good for research. Histories show a lot. You can see what the sellers are buying and where. Amazing you can see where the big sellers of brugs are buying their stock for next year or where they bought it from. A sellers source is a pretty good indication of high quality small breeders. There are usually several breeders/sellers bidding on the same items from the same source.

I also love to buy plants off ebay.If only half of what I have lived to next year I would still have too many. But I always need more.

I asked for a "second" chance on the new Mountain Magic cross, (Rahabana) (bloom is yellow near callyx and deep deep orange at the ruffles) and the Double Orange -Herrhausen Garten, HG - and he let me have a second chance on both!

What a terrific seller!

The rest of the stuff (cuttings!) have 4 days to go. I've lost on a few of those already.

That's a beautiful color. You can definitely get carried away on Ebay. I refuse to watch the auctions I'm bidding on because I know I'd get too caught up. I just use a sniping tool and enter the most that I'm willing to pay. My bid is enteted with 3 seconds left on the auction. If I win great, if not, oh well. If I was watching the auctions I'd be increasing my bids like crazy and then regret it. lol I remember when the Peanut cuttings were on Ebay. They ended up going for over $100! Too much for me.

Yep, I agree Karen. I'm at my "limit" on some cuttings.

There are cuttings that are over 20.00 now! I'm out. Can't do it.

The Mountain magic is a cross, but, it's a plant. I'm hoping to "push" it so I can offer cuttings next spring sooner ratner than later.

Gonna try my hand at the proverbial "HG" that are exceptionally picky and tough to bloom.

I'm still exicted about the super nova though. Like a little kid. . . .the other cuttings, I've already been outbid on. . .cest la vive. . .not going to chase them.

I'll just try to trade what I've got and get in line for postage from others. (grin)

When you're a newbie, you have to rely on others for their "standards" or their "reliables." Hey, can't have it all, right? Just wanted to give back.

BTW, was wondering, ever had any luck with your cross hybridizing? New colors? I'd love to try some of your new stuff.

Give your new plant plenty of time to grow. Don't rush trying to take cuttings too early. I'd also like the HG but have heard that it's a tempermental variety and not a great bloomer. Someone sent me some tiny cuttings of their double orange NOID. They were only about 3 and 4 inches long and completely green. I did manage to root them and I know they are growing somewhere on my deck. lol I'm going to keep those under light this winter and see if I can get any blooms next season. The majority of the plants from my seeds have been single white or cream. I had one double that was an offwhite but managed to lose it last winter. My youngest dumped a cup of chocolate milk in the pot and it rotted the plant not to mention stinking up my entire house! It took me a while to figure out where the smell was coming from and the only reason I found it was because the plant started looking terrible. By that time it was too far gone. I have a few of my seedlings with buds that should open very soon, I hope. You can't really go by the first flush because it could change.

I'll try your whites or creams. Doesn't matter to me. I like those. My whites are just being jerks! I'm fed up with them, that's why I'm excited about a super nova or a Gennieverre . . . .something other than my jerks! I have yet to see a white bloom in my yard! (grin)

Pinks, sure, yellows, yea, peach, of course, white? nope, none, zero, zilch, nada, not a single one. Nothing. I'd love a white in my yard! Or Creme! If you have seeds, I'll try them. Start them inside, and grow them outside.

So me and Ebay. Went to look at what you were bidding on a found a toy 10 miles from my house. I am going to look at tomorrow afternoon. I used to collect but it all rusts here. I will make it into a daily driver if it has no rust. I drive 32 miles one way to work. It is all open highway. I do not like my inherited camaro real fast sporty but is to low and noisy, but I always used to like my z's. My 4x4 suburban is too expensive to drive.

So You made a bargin in pleasure for a plant. grin That is why we work so we can enjoy.

Dweeb I wish i was seeing more colors. I don't even like white flowers. The only colored brugs that have bloomed so far are my Tropical Sunset, Pink Butterfly and some peachy NOIDs. I didn't get one seed pod this season. I've tried pollinating what's out there right now but there's not enough time for a pod to develop anyway. The only chance will be the Maya because I keep my variegated brugs under lights. I'll definitely have cuttings from white varieties to send in Oct.

Jim I couldn't imagine driving a car that small anymore. Where would I put the car seat, DVD, Playstation, etc? lol I've been driving SUV's or minivans for the past 13 years. DH talked me into getting rid of my convertible when I was pregnant with our first child. He thought I'd stick the baby in the back and pop my top. I miss that car : ( but I'm so used to big cars now that it feels strange when I have to drive DH's Accord. I feel like I'm sitting on the ground. 15 years ago I'd have never imagined myself in a minivan. How things change.

I need 25+ miles per gallon and it has to be fun to drive. It is just a highway rocket. In town it is the suburban and dw Marquis. I inherited her Camaro when she drove it hot. After a motor overhaul I got it cause she had a new Marquis. Im 6'2" and 240. The Camaro is all motor and sits 6" off the ground with larger tires. I learned to get in it without support it is an acrobatic feat, kind of falling in and a crunch getting out or a hand on the ground. Only thing good is 30 mpg on highway.

All of my whites are duds. CG rocks, I would like a red. I looked up the gradiata sp? My Texas pink is blooming quite a pretty bloom. Big plants but bloom 1/10 of CG he is blooming always. I have never hit them with a blooming fertilizer hard. I will soon as our temps slide some. He (CG or uncle Charles) will be chopped up and cloned. I hope the offspring carry all the traits of the parent which it should. This one is designed for South Texas. Never a problem all year long not even mites. I guess it is cause he is next to sprinkler head or it is all the fuzzy leaves and stems. You guys need to get with the polymers. I am amazed as the further I go out the protection and the leaves, flowers and plants health through the hardest time of the summer. It was really not made for heat but cold...

Ah, I agree with Karen. I can't drive "little" any more. Sold my suburban for the same reason Jim. 8-12 miles to the gallon - $300/ea tires - I'm not hauling stuff up and down hills anymore. Didn't need it. Just couldn't bring myself to buy an HHR or the PT Cruiser. Too small for me. 1,000 years ago, used to drive an MG Midget conv. (I'm 5'10+ - that always made people laugh.) Can't do it anymore. When my lincoln TC died, (That was like driving my living room couch around - I loved it!) - went shopping for a Dodge Caliber, ended up with an H3. 5 cylinder, 20 mpg. It's not big like my suburban, but it's not small. Compromise. Now have a little "SUV" that gets decent mileage!

Jim - when you said TOY - lol - I realized, that's a REAL car! Too funny. Well, good luck, I hope you win! Looks like fun!
