Panicum virgatum 'Heavy Metal'

I live in Orange County, 2 miles from the coast. I recently put in some Panicum virgatum "Heavy Metal" blue switch grass.

It was starting to go a little autumny-looking when I put it in, but now it's almost entirely golden/orangey/brownish (actually quite pretty), but I can't find a bit of green on it. I've watered it some since it's a new plant, but have tried not to overdo it. Is it normal for it to look this way this time of year? Should I cut it back? The grass itself and the seedheads are still attractive.

All of the other grasses I have (Mexican feather grass, Muhlenbergia capillaris, Muhlenbergia Yakashima, Calamagrostis Karl Foerster, blue oat grass) all are semi-dormant and have a mix of brown and green. Heavy Metal is a new grass for me and I'm not sure what to expect.
